alekr Posted November 30, 2012 Share #1 Posted November 30, 2012 Does anybody knows why there is 2 metallic slanted seats on the back of the old fleet buses. Did they have a purpose or a reason? I am curious about those. Thanks!

Threxx Posted November 30, 2012 Share #3 Posted November 30, 2012 Those aren't seats on the O5's (as they are labeled) they are places for passengers to holdon...
SevenEleven Posted November 30, 2012 Share #4 Posted November 30, 2012 That was to compensate for the DD engine not fitting regularly in the engine bay. (Lack of a better way to explain it)
aemoreira81 Posted December 2, 2012 Share #5 Posted December 2, 2012 That was to compensate for the DD engine not fitting regularly in the engine bay. (Lack of a better way to explain it) Better way to explain it---the Detroit Diesel series 50 engine is mounted vertically and because Orion had very little space between the back seat and the actual rear of the bus, it impeded into the engine area. realizm Posted December 2, 2012 Share #6 Posted December 2, 2012 Interesting I always wondered. Yeah it's obvious since those seats do get very warm from the heat produced by the bus' engine. The moar you know...
