M. Friday 1986 Posted December 23, 2013 Share #1 Posted December 23, 2013 Managed to take the 11:31am Holiday Train northbound that left 2nd Avenue this morning. Rode from West 4th Street to Queens Plaza. Awesome ride, overall a really good vibe. These cars can really move! Glad I made a trip. Please enjoy. Bonus R68 Photo Thank you for viewing! Happy Holidays!

realizm Posted December 23, 2013 Share #4 Posted December 23, 2013 Nice pictures, love this old train. I have noticed the T-shirt. If only you were there. It is a very fast ride, surprisingly so. The traction motors hum with power in a way that shows early 20th century innovation. I was very impressed by the performance despite its age when I was on it the first week it hit the rails. M. Friday 1986 Posted December 24, 2013 Author Share #7 Posted December 24, 2013 Nice job Friday, looking good. +1. Thanks bro! Nice pictures, love this old train. I have noticed the T-shirt. Thanks! I was very impressed by the performance despite its age when I was on it the first week it hit the rails. You and I both. I've visited the cars at the museum various times. But as someone who had a chance to ride on these in operation for the first time, I found their performance to be incredibly solid. Some cars, particularly the ones that kept at 207th Street, do need some touchups here and there, IMO. Other than that, I can see that these cars are definitely well taken care of. Nice set. Thanks bro! Great set of pics! Thank you very much!
