LGAAccessEIS.com: LaGuardia Airport Access Improvement Project Environmental Impact Statement

Recommended Posts

I first found this here:

Here there is an email posted: comments@lgaaccesseis.com. Therefore, I searched for https://www.lgaaccesseis.com. I searched the phrase "LaGuardia Airport Access Improvement Project Environmental Impact Statement" on Google and found the test website: https://bat-heron-k8lr.squarespace.com. I have no idea why it is called that.

I saved all the pages on both sites on the Web Archive so we can see how the websites changed and so that they are preserved for reference and to keep them accountable.

Here is the Notice of Intent To Prepare an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS): https://www.govinfo.gov/content/pkg/FR-2019-05-03/pdf/2019-08863.pdf

Some of those alternatives that were thrown in there are hilarious:

Alternative Five—Off-Airport Roadway Expansion: Increase the capacity of roadways surrounding and providing access to the Airport, potentially including I–495, the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway (BQE), the Grand Central Parkway, Queens Boulevard, and/or Astoria Boulevard.

LGA Airport Access Improvement Project OCTOBER 2018 Purpose and Objectives and Analysis of Alternatives Report

There is a lot to unpack here.

Elon Musk needs to get out of the public dialogue:

Did they have to go through this same process for building AirTrain JFK?

Yes:

Great idea. People in charge have the tendency to delete inconvenient facts (looking at Comcast reneging on their net neutrality promise).

IIRC Cuomo did this to the Tappan Zee replacement, so all those studies promoting rail transit across the new bridge are now very hard to find if not impossible.
