mark1447 Posted January 28, 2009 Share #3 Posted January 28, 2009 About time it stops at Astoria Bl, though it should be Hoyt Avenue/Astoria Park yeah instead of making it look like a damn express bus, and having customers who want Rikers to use the Q101
B35 via Church Posted January 28, 2009 Share #4 Posted January 28, 2009 wait a minute... except for Astoria Blvd, Q100 drivers been stopping at those 2 intersections for the longest... couldn't have been that many b/o's breaking the rules.... or maybe they were intimidated by the passengers.... lol... Forest Glen Posted January 28, 2009 Share #5 Posted January 28, 2009 I'm sure the Astoria NIMBY's will love the ex-cons in their neighborhood
DevilBus65 Posted January 29, 2009 Share #6 Posted January 29, 2009 The only reason the Q100 doesn't make all the stops the Q101 makes is the people who live in that neighborhood VOTED for the Rikers bus to made an express. Back in the day the Rikers 101 made all the stops the local made, used the same route and it even went to 59th st and 2nd ave. Over the years many changes were made to the line. First was the decision to terminate at Queensborough Plaza. Then various versions of the dark route from Qns Plaza to Hazen st were tried out. Finally going with the 21st route that gave access to the 41ave subway station. The latest stop additions are all since the MTA takeover and probably wn't be the last.
