B41 Posted February 4, 2009 Author Share #3 Posted February 4, 2009 Are you sure, it wasn't 3862? Yes I am sure. 3852-3863 are used for the S89 and 3862 is out of YUK depot.

The TransitMan Posted February 5, 2009 Share #6 Posted February 5, 2009 Well, I would not count that out about Orion 07.501 "Next Generation" Low Floor Hybrid #3962 on the S46 because Orion 07.501 "Next Generation" Low Floor Hybrid #3965 was seen by a friend of mine on the S66 at the Staten Island Ferry Terminal...with Castleton logos on it! Not only did he see that bus BUT it has a NEW battery pack on it. So that TOTALLY throws me off thinking that Ulmer Park was next to get NGs. It also looks like Flatbush will be ending at #3960
Q43 Floral Park Posted February 5, 2009 Share #7 Posted February 5, 2009 Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (Danger hiptop 4.7; U; rv:1.7.12) Gecko/20050920) im not really surprised as I truely doubted that KB or GH would be next (I wasn't even conisdering UP being next). In the official release MTA said SI was getting 125 buses. CAS and YUK have 50 each, so CAS would be receiving 25 more (3960-3984).
B41 Posted February 6, 2009 Author Share #8 Posted February 6, 2009 At first I though FLA depot would get up to 3969. Let us not worry. Soon, all of the borughs will have Orion 7 NG.
Luis1985 Posted February 6, 2009 Share #9 Posted February 6, 2009 thats good. i saw 3949 on the Flatbush Depot's B49 yesterday, and as far as i know, 3813 and 3817 are still at Michael J. Quill Depot, Manhattan. i spotted 3817 on the M16 heading towards PA Bus Term @ around 8:35PM.

GH/CS have most of the 93s and KB/ CS have most of the 95s. WF has a small number of 93-95 O5s and considering how they have 200 O7 CNGs and Artics they shouldn't get new buses for the next decade. Grand Av doesn't need the NGs and im not going to start on why. If anything KB should have been 1st on that list because of the stunt they pulled with the CAS buses. A b/o posted that the 3800s have been leaving CAS as the 3960s have been coming in and we all know there's only 1 depot CAS sends buses to after they mess them up a lot... I'm waiting to see what happens with the Bronx but I will be pissed if I see 3805 on the Bx3 as opposed to 4005.

Remember the 2003-2004 D60HFs? As MJQ was receiving more D60HF's, KB was getting the lower numbered 2003-2004 D60HF's. For example, when Quill got 5750, KB would get 5705. That explains why KB still has the 2003-2004 D60HF's to this very day. That's exactly why I would be pissed to see 3800s out of KB. The last buses they received factory new were 5200-5249. They deserve brand new buses to displace the rotting crap the TA sent them repeatedly. There's no NYCTA depot with worse buses than KB

Because they had them for a while until they got replaced by the Orion VII's and got transfered to Flatbush. Then they got transfered again to Quill and got replaced by more Orion VII's (but the new ones this time). Do you think that they are gonna go back to KB? Im not trying to attack you but my point is that those buses were done when they 1st got to KB and should have been retired asap. 33rd St: I don't live in KB terr, I did at 1 point. But I spend a lot of time up there. Fresh Pond: I don't know where the 5200s went directly after leaving KB. As for them going back there. You never know seeing as the Bx colleclts random buses. aemoreira81 Posted February 16, 2009 Share #25 Posted February 16, 2009 I guess you live in KB Territory. The last time my area got new 40-foot long buses directly from the factory was about a decade ago. Ulmer Park, however, has not gotten a new local bus in 13 years.
