i wasnt referring to 139 routes. i was referring long branch routes and possibly other routes like point pleasant rt 35 to wall street etc. They are all owned by NJT or PA and leased to Academy

why not the popular mall "STATEN ISLAND MALL" off Richmond?

if i was the president or ceo of Njtransit , i would enforce all bus contractor to put in the clever device that tell you where they are on their route. i was riding the academy last night and it was hard to tell where i am unless i look out the front window from the aisle.

i read it and it said Coney Island-bound service available. Meaning it the terminal stop. Some people think there no train available at that stop so that why they wrote it that way. Also i think they want to clarify which direction the train is available to use at that particular stop

i heard on the news that one train got stuck in middle of power outages. Passengers said the train got way to hot to get ventilate. Uh hello open the side windows to get some air in silly.

probably normal.it had no effect in the new route since it split off essex street. also dont forget the nightly shuttle start around that time.

i was watching fox 5 news at 10 on march 19, 2013. they said a construction worker is trapped in trench. he is trapped for more then an hour and half already and FDNY EMS and NYPD are all there. They said it around the 92 Street area of Second Avenue.

maybe they want to slowly progress in loss of service from point a to point b. also to make sure the equipment is in right place for the 5 am rush. they probably need the time to do the arrangement before the track closed to traffic.that my theory..

in one of the post you shouldnt touch 831 to more north of red bank. during holiday time, the bus is alway late. i remember one time the bus was half hour late for me to reach the last 834 and thankfully the last 834 waited for us because of heavy traffic jam along rt 35 from monmouth mall to red bank. the 831 got enough traffic jam in west long branch to long branch train station. i can see 834 need to expand a little more of line because that route is too light and too fast sometime(maybe it depend on the time of day) 817 with every hour and half sound ridiculous. even tho it run by academy. That route is way to long.They somehow run perpendicular and cross over each other from the Port Authority run between keyport and belford main street. The Port Authority run dont run much, only during rush hour peak direction. After lunch they drop their service to every two hours toward NYC even on weekend for both direction. there is a section that has 3 hours wait if you miss it. look at their schedule and you will be surprise because not enough rider. i think it got change dramatically ever since economic turn around.

i think they canceled it because coney island yard still got so much more work to do and i think they want to concentrate on that first. i think they made the schedule out before SANDY came and didnt realized all the damaged it causes. It also could be the weather that we are facing and it not worth the effort to get these guys out there to get hurt. this is my theory and guess. no fact to back this up.

i hate this thread. the only way to make new stations is anything beyond the terminal or to start a new subway line like the 2 ave line. The object of the subway is to go in far distance without stopping like 6 to 10 blocks apart. Some foamers on here think the subway is a bus and it not. the way subway is running is fine.

question this morning there a signal problem for main street during the A.M. rush hour. They are using the express track in that direction. does that mean the 42 street express is knock out of service?

Since the is running, i think the should put that letter on the website under service status

Jay street switch track is before entering the station. Since someone require medical at jay street. it impossible.
