  2. Two Timers, what is the speed limit on the Manhattan Bridge. I noticed that the Broadway side seem going faster then 6 Ave side. I was walking along the Broadway side and it zoom thru the bridge while i was hearing the 6 Ave crawling. What up with these speed?
  3. mysterious2 train i call the crowded train sardine. lol
  4. i think what they did was make the train switch over to the express track and keep switching over till they get to the downtown side. if you look at the track map, the first one get you onto the express track, then next one move over one, the last set of switches mover one more which is the track for downtown.
  5. according to mta website, there will be 300 179 train cars delivering by 2014. R32 got the last makeover to last for next 2 to 4 years.

  11. Due to a rail condition at the Times Square-42 Street Station, some downtown trains are running express from the 72 Street Station to the 34 Street-Penn Station. Please expect delays on the , and trains at this time. Question: This had been popping up once in while throughout the subway. How or who determined about the rail condition? Is it the Geometry train? If not then who else?
  12. I agree with trainman. I was wandering myself too since when the terminate at Forest Hills. There nothing wrong with the via to Broadway Lafayette unless you are a tourist. It just showing the is splitting up into two different routes till they get to the bridge. They really should say "Some train will run via the or to the Manhattan Bridge"
  13. I wonder if this was caused by the work they did over the weekend near Dekalb Ave.
  14. It amazing how they divert the train into sections. I hope someone notice that the train heading toward Brooklyn end in Manhattan but what about the train heading toward Manhattan? Are they terminating at 36 street? 59 street and do shuttle mode? Also they should suggested that go to nearest to Atlantic Ave. or take the train to Franklin ave and change train at Franklin Avenue or Prospect Park(Q). With AND how that affect this situation? crowd control?

Some northbound trains are running on the line from the Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue Station to the DeKalb Avenue Station. Planned Work delayed, trains will run there regular route from the Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue Station to the 36 Street Station (Bklyn). Please expect delays on the , and trains at this time.
  16. extend the (NJCL) to Seaside Height. They should change the railcars from long branch to seaside height with lo floor light rail. during the off season it should terminate at Belmar.
  17. hey subway station yes i meant prospect avenue.
  18. these are great speed that i remember . train express from 125 street to grand central and vice versa. the only thing is the 59 street on express track causes too many slow down because once it start speeding then you need to slow and stop.. everywhere is like you have to hang on real hard or you get knock down.we all can understand the slow down when they are approaching the 42 street grand terminal because of sharp curves. The other part that is great express speed is between 42 street grand central to 14 street. Of course we all understand they need to slow down near 14 street because of that sharp curves. had a great express between 14 street and 34 street. with 3 stops in the middle is like you zap right thru that you can miss seeing that stop. Also the other street is 42 to 72 street with swaying that will knock you down on 4 ave have great speed between Atlantic Avenue and 59 street. The reason why i say is because during that time the had to slow down once they reach halfway thru 25 street. It been like that for years. Lately when i need to go thru that area i noticed that train is now slowing down at prospect park. Another great speed is Union Street to 9Street. You can feel the wind in tunnel as they try to climb the hill. Another speed is train between 59 Street and Bay ridge Avenue. That train really pick up speed once all 8 cars clear the s curve. I am sure it would be call the s curve because after they leave station is was like a hard push to the left so they can save spaces in tunnel or i think there a storage room there. This one may seem odd in speed is at 9th avenue and Fort Hamliton Parkway. With a big S curves. the back then sped out of 9th ave to come around the curve and zap over to the other curves. Once they reach the other curve it was little fast but then they had to hit the brake for that red light. Once it was clear they gun it to the end of the station of Fort Hamiliton Parkway. In other direction they was a little slow to the first curves then get the clear signal and gun to the other curves and brakes a little then resume speed into the 9th Avenue station. Also it the tunnel area between the 36 street and 9Th avenue. When train heading to 36 street it always a drag. But the train heading to 9th ave seem to have faster speed till the train reach top of the first grade hill. This is where the yard track meet the revenue track.
  19. i agree with you nx why isn't those train suspended
  20. Service Change Posted: 06/12/2012 2:58PM Due to ongoing track work at the Queensboro Plaza Station, Times Square bound train service running express from the Main Street Station to the Queensboro Plaza station. Please expect delays on Times Square Bound trains at this time. off peak hours express!!! LOL. those who looking for express to main street is going to be mad as hell.
  21. i was surprised that the train got suspended. i guess this station is in the middle of the route and no room to break into two section. oh well.
  22. QBL will be nightmare. There no detours to used in that area. It seem this is the only stretch that always managed to have train running in both direction but not in shutdown similarity. I don't think anyone ever heard of shutdown on this stretch except during the weather problems. Just delayed is all I heard.
  23. LOL at the pic in the sixth avenue fast trac. Why? One of the photo caption said painting column at 34 street meanwhile the station logo on the wall said 47 50! Bad human error that can't read.
  24. I am sure this question go into this thead after reading the changes over the weekend and why, i notice they mention stop cable preparation. Anyone know what this is for? just curious because i have no idea how it relate to subway.
