  1. the mini buses is also used by NYC DOT, they have offices at 3030 too. Also at 3030 on the 5th floor was some college office, forgot the name but i remember seeing signs all over the place
  2. it is still part of the college and now BARD high school is there
  3. i know which building you are talking about, to this day, they still run those mini buses. i work in a building that is a few blocks away from this building.
  4. correct. i need to go the 33rd station so the 7 train is very important to me. based on the new plan, i will have to take the bus to the 71th QB station and take the EFMR a few stops to the 7 train which also increases my commute since now i will be waiting for 2 trains instead of just one. It seems with this new plan, my average 45min commute will now be taking over 60-90 minutes
  5. as a glendale resident, one of the things i hate hate hate about this plan is how they are reducing quick access to a subway. I can take the Q47 bus to the 69th st 7 train station (or the Q29 bus to 82nd st station 7 train station ). with this new design, i now have to go further out of my way and take to the bus to either 103st station 7 train station or main st 7 train station. my commute to manhattan is going to increase
  6. The routing does not make any sense and goes against what the mta wants to do avoid narrow streets
  7. I hate this. My new commute from Glendale to Long Island City is going to take ever longer with the Q29 now re-branded as the QT82 with the only possible transfer to the 7 train at 103rd st or the Q47 now re-branded as the QT86 that goes to main st. Looks like at least an hour and 30 minute trip or longer. And buses have will be running every 20 minutes ..wow unbelievable, very worse horrible service. how the hell is this an improvement?! Where i live now, i have a choice of taking the Q47 to either 69th st or 74st 7 subway station or the Q29 bus to 82nd st station
  8. Wow..thats sad..how is it going to improve service if it is going to increase my commute time to take like an extra 30min to 60min longer..makes no sense. on an average day, taking the Q47 to the 7 train to Long Island city is about 45 minutes. there is no way this is possible if i have to go all the way to 103rd station.
  9. I live in Glendale and my daily commute to work everyday requires me to take the Q47 to the 7 train. I would love love if the MTA keeps the Q47 at atlas park. While i could take the Q29 to the 7 train, that bus is the itself one of the worse unreliable buses ever. I had a ton of problems with the Q29 bus from very long wait times to bus drivers randomly decided to the end the route early at Queens Blvd even through the destination side on the top and side of the bus said Jackson heights and bustime shows it is a Jackson Heights bus. At Queens Blvd i have to either wait for the next Q29 and hope that runs the full route to Jackson Heights or hop on the R/M train a few stops to the 7 train. If the MTA wants to change the Q47 service then they need to do something to improve service on the Q29 and give the Q29 Jackson Heights bus that go the 7 train better headaways
  10. city general fund as payments go to department of finance
  11. hopefully this means they increase the service on the q47 bus. I noticed during rush hours, it is impossible to get on an atlas park bound bus near the 7 train subways on 69th st and 74th st.
  12. i have an easypay metrocard and the wear/tear that card gets far far exceeds the expire date on my card. if you put the card into a vending machine, it should give you a new card
  13. i wonder what they are cutting back
  14. this is what it looks like from google street view. It kinda make sense to remove these staircases . Removing one of the staircases will allow the stock exchange to expand the blue tent
  15. For the B38, will both routes get the artics or only one route? Would be interesting to see the artic try to turn around on Cornelia St/Onderdonk Ave/Catalpa Ave like what the current B38 does
  16. a similar problem exists in the trades too (plumbers, electrician)..there is something about the millennials that do not want to work in these fields
  17. After 17 years, the Cortlandt St station on the 1 train line will reopen in October . source https://7ny.tv/2HjvMGL
  18. i wish the MTA improves the rush hour Q47 hour service instead of this service change. whenever i ride the Q47 bus during rush hour to atlas park, it seems to run like very 15-20 minutes and it goes soo crowded it has to skip 69th and Roosevelt ave.
  19. when a bus stop has that shelter thing with the seats, who does the shoveling? Almost every bus stop is like this: why cant they shovel out a little path so its much better to get on/off the bus?..Some bus stops its impossible to get on because the snow is piled up to high and is icy.
  20. why did they switch the Q70 and Q47 bus stops at the Roosevelt Ave subway station/bus terminal?. Before, the Q47 used to be inside the little bus area terminal next to Q49 bus stop and the Q70 was in front of the subway station on Roosevelt Ave. Now, the bus stops are switched with the Q70 inside the bus terminal and the Q47 on Roosevelt ave.
  21. b/d grand st station is underground, why is that closed?
  22. that looks like a new change. I wonder where the new Q53 bus stop is at Justice Ave and Broadway. Both google maps and bustime show the bus stop at corner of Broadway and Justice Ave where the Q58 is. Does that mean the bus stop goes moved on the other side of the corner? i guess they want to try to avoid the traffic at Broadway and queens blvd.
  23. anyone have any ideas what happen? I got caught in this mess at Jay St. 4 trains came then finally an train that was insanely crowded
  24. at around 8:50pm, a sick customer on the C train at jay st delaying service for about 20 minutes making some of A trains run local.
  25. what happen to the 7 train at 33rd st today around 5pm? there was no local 7 train, only express
