I inquired about the same thing on here around March or April of this year.... Anyway, I remember riding out of Livingston Mall on the #31 before they got truncated & those suckers would be packed..... IDK man, I just don't get it....
Although I like the rides on the #70 & the #73 from a fanning perspective, getting to/from Livingston Mall was simply quicker on the #31.... Now buses barely serve South Orange ctr. & practically everything emanates from Dover st....
Couldn't agree about the #31 being crush loaded to/from Livingston Mall. So now the people who live in that section of Newark that work and/or shop in the Livingston area now have to take the #31 to transfer points for the #70 and #73? That's too much transfers to deal with. IDK what Coach is thinking but this smells familiar in the way they cut the 4, 10/99s & 16 bus routes in Jersey City...

In late January of this year ... or probably around that time last year. I know it's one of those two choices since I remember seeing the notices when I was on the 31.
Just not enough ridership I guess. I remember that before the service stopped, they really had cut back on the service to those three locations for a while and then, nothing.
I can understand the Maplewood Loop segment getting dropped (tumbleweeds for passengers). The Livingston Mall via St. Barnabas Hospital one, that is a head scratcher, at best

I was looking at bus schedules out of pure boredom, and noticed that the 31 no longer serve Livingston Mall, St. Barnabas hospital & Maplewood Loop. When did Coach decided to cut the route as far as South Orange center?

Not for a lack of trying here, but I saw something saying that the MTA announced that they will replace their diesel trains (15, as announced) on the Port Jervis line with the SC-44 Charger. And before I get grilled on about how that's a MTA issue, yes it is, but NJT operates the line.
So thoughts on seeing the Charger on NJT rails?

This PATH forum does not talk about employment opportunities. Which is something sorely lacking .But I have looked at this forum and will attempt to use this as a place where all can gain information on PATH and other employment issues.
And I have used other transit systems as a place for this forum...
It would be nice to get some inside info on some job openings. I'm exploring my options once my contract to the US Army is done in March 2020

PATH and NJT are two separate entities. PATH discussions goes to the regional forum. This is NJT

Looks like you can add another possible totaled Nabi 6072 hit by a train today in Garfield. That's 2 totaled running for Saddle River in the last 2 weeks. The other caught fire 6101.
Reports say that the bus was operated by Community Coach, not Saddle River

I understand your point...I didnt know orange was helping with the 62....But yes i cant agree with you more that greenville should help out of jersey city especially when the 1 have problems coming out of newark...twice a month i deal with the 6:58 am out of exchange not showing up at all forcing everyone on the next one which is like 7:45am all the driver says is that the driver before him or her didnt show up for work or bus broke down....If im not mistaking i saw a nabi surburban #5249 a couple of months ago doing the 1 to ivy hill....I thought i was bugging when i saw it...
I've seen that happen before... but with the 54XX suburbans that Hilton has.

Im not saying Hilton should completely give up the route...But during rush hours outside of newark(6:30-10:00am-3:00pm-7:00pm) the 1 line sees increased ridership and needs help and i think ironbound should provide it..sometimes when the path train comes across a problem the 1 gets slammed like no other or if drivers call out buses become missing in action.....from time to time a bus from ironbound or orange will show up on the 1......few years back greenville helped with a couple of trips...
Agreed. What I'm trying to say is with the still ongoing shitshow (if it ended then kudos to them, but still) in Ironbound and seeing Orange operators covering down for Ironbound routes. If anything Orange needs to step away from that. Hell I'm ok with Greenville doing one or two trips on the 1, coming from Exchange Place or Journal Square

I think NJT should split the #1 line with either ironbound or orange.....all jersey city runs should be managed by hilton...But the other 3 that dont come as far as jc should be taking over by ironbound in my opinion
With Orange doing some of the Ironbound's routes (namely the 62), why would they do the 1? It makes sense, location wise, but I rather it stay with Hilton.

Do 4023 and 4044 have a warranty? If so, should they be sent back to MCI to be repaired?

18105 is on the 319 right now, via Mybus now

Great so the only ones missing is 18081, 82, 83, 91, 92, 93 so far.
Probably at Ironbound being tested, and working any bugs/issues on them before they go to their assigned garage

5919 ran in revenue service for about 2 years the most for the AC Bus corp in Jersey City...I think someone confirmed why 5919 and 5757 went missing in action....But im sure someone here knows the reasons behind this
5919 was last running for AC Bus Corp. However it was last seen inside the Ferry St. Maintenance Shop in Newark on jackstands. Don't know about 5757.

Currently all 18000s at twp are out of service. 5 are out of service indefinitely.
About 10-15 old mcis will be kept, 18000s mostl” likely wont be on the 412.
How come they are out of service?

Did a RT on the #139 this morning.... Call this consistency or a coincidency, but the duration of both trips lasted the same exact time (1 hr, 31 mins)....
I managed to catch the 5:30 from PABT.... I understand people have "good times" partying & drinking & what not, but really, I don't wanna be subjected to hearing a bunch of "ooh dammn, ahh, ahh shiit... waii waii wait...."along the way.... Started hearing that shit around EWR & it was intermittent all the way until they got off at sindy/sydney/cindy rd, something like that..... Something that irks the crap out of me is when people start getting shifty/fidgety on relatively empty buses/subway cars (like, the same type of motion that would petrify any police officer at the scene of some incident or w/e)..... Hell is you doin all that gettin up & moving around for (well I knew why in this case, wink wink.... but still).....
...and dude (black guy) had the nerve to give me some weird type of look as they both got off.... Like, fool, I don't want your gerbil-faced, malnourished, struggle becky you proud to have on your arm.... Once those beer goggles come off, goddddddddd damn!
Some hispanic guy got on a couple stops before we hit freehold ctr, and I said to myself, if you know what I know, you wouldn't be sitting back there.....
The return trip back to PABT (7am from Lakewood) was more or less tame (I waited a whopping total of 2 mins. after getting off the first #139).... Other than the 9 of us that got on at Lakewood, there were stragglers until we hit Freehold Ctr, where only myself & some lady remained after ppl. got off - and then about 10 more people boarded.... Somehow, after waking up (I had dozed off somewhere in Man-a-lap-an & woke up just after leaving Old Bridge P&R) to see not only some dude sitting next to me, but some broad hovering over him on top of it.... Basically, we touched down in PABT with a seated load & 2 standees to boot.....
Yoooooo this made my day, the thirst is very real and, in this case, very drunk and stupid. Also seeing dumb things like this, sounds like your typical weekend in the military.

At this point, I would endorse regulation.
Also of they stink so bad as people say they do, how come I don't see people complaining about the odors coming from the Greater Newark buses??????

This Route Uses Maplewood Flyers And The Whole Ride Is About 20 Min
The question is, any demand for such service? Maplewood folk rather take the train to Hoboken to reach Jersey City.
I agree with the length of the route, it's quite the trip. And yes you STILL have to go through Newark. As the Ironbound goes, most people rather take the 1 to Penn Station to catch the PATH. Not everyone is keen to sit on the 1 when it goes to River Terminal before reaching Jersey City.
