  1. Oh so they pay for those cheese buses? Interesting... I am, but I didn't know they paid for the cheese buses. Still wasn't a high ridership route, and more of the MTA subsidizing school transportation for the DOE.
  2. Those kids get yellow buses from what I've heard and (correct me if I'm wrong) probably did even before the X32 was cut, so it was barely used. I saw a video of a ride on that bus with an ex-NYBS/Green Lines suburban Orion V and literally no one was on it. I think all the X32s were ran from Casey Stengel and only used those O5s.
  3. Orion only offered the BAE series hybrid, that's why they don't have Allison
  4. Damn Charleston too? I was dead when I saw 2 3rd Gens waiting in line though. Thought I was straight tripping.
  5. Castleton and Yukon were out on the G shuttle tonight.
  6. The buses replacing the DesignLine order will probably go along with that number sequence...7215-7277
  7. I think the Xcelsior is the fan favorite lol. Don't remember people going crazy over the artics at all.
  8. People who want a stress free, short and less expensive commute to work should move back to the city. There's some nice areas to raise your family as well as good schools across the 5 boroughs, but sadly a good portion of the people who left for NJ did it because they are racist and afraid of their kids growing up with a diverse group of people (they'll even move to a different town/school district if theirs becomes too diverse). You leave for bumf*ck NJ thinking your kids will end up so much better, you pay the price with the high taxes, long commutes and high fares, and all that, don't complain about any of that stuff because it was your choice to move to there. I'm not saying an effort shouldn't be made by these agencies (NJT, PA, etc) to give these people a decent commute by doing things like the Gateway tunnel and improving the PABT, but people really need to stop complaining. Even with the Gateway tunnel or a new PABT your commute will still be over an hour, there's still gonna be delays at the tunnel/station because of congestion and it's still likely gonna cost you over $300 a month.
  9. Not connecting with Penn was a bad idea. Gateway sounds much better IMO.
  10. Aaaanyways that Bay Plaza was a f**kin mess tonight. Going there I didn't have any issues but that's cause I took the Bx23 and walked, saw a long line of cars coming in and the Bx12s were all jam packed. Leaving around 8PM it was a MOB of cars and people trying to leave. The Bx12 line was like something I've never seen before, every bus went out SRO leaving another SRO load behind and the buses were all late. By the time we got out onto Bartow it took us 20 minutes. Would've been much better off walking to Bartow and taking a Bx23 or Q50 to the , empty bus and just a bit of traffic until you get off Bartow. That place ain't even that much, only a few places are open but it was mobbed like Black Friday in there.
  11. That would be Saddle River. Kinda surprised, they seem to have a lot of (pretty nice looking) Prevosts for their charters.
  12. There's an R32 A running to Far Rockaway. Guess for a little extra railfan entertainment...
  13. 2731 was on a Yukon S55 trip and 2914 was on the S89 before. Rode 2914, damn that was a nice ride down Richmond Ave.
  14. Some kinda interesting news, the Port Authority has awarded NYCT a contract for AirTrain busing at JFK... http://www.panynj.gov/business-opportunities/ca-contracts-awarded.html I'm gonna guess this will just be supplementing the PA's own buses. It's a relatively small contract award ($27,000) and don't see any of the PA's Orions going anywhere, maybe they finally got they need more buses than they have during those Airtrain shutdowns, those can be complete chaos especially when it's a full shutdown. Anyways look out for the MTA during future AirTrain shuttles...hopefully they'll send out artics cause they sure as hell need em and maybe ATU at JFK Depot won't have a problem with it like they do with subway shuttle work so they can get those D60s from right across the street.
  15. Why would UP get loaners for that shuttle and not Casey Stengel? Wouldn't they be the "prime depot" for that? Then again that's not the weirdest move I saw for subway shuttles, Flatbush was the only depot to get loaners (LFSAs) specifically for the shuttle to Far Rock unless you count College Point keeping a bunch of farebox less O5 CNGs for it and Stengel keeping 1305/1306 for a while.
