I'm thinking the same thing. Every time I see a D4500 on Bergenline Ave as 156/159, I wonder how much time is lost from people trying to get on and off the bus
As a lifelong rider of 166, all I can say is "Finally" to seeing 166T express on Sundays. The Blvd East and the crowed to the city on Sundays can make things dangerously crowded on 166.
Saw bunch of XD60's and NABI buses chilling at Vince Lombardi lot on Friday (8/11). Any idea why there were there for? Does Medowlands garage have space issues now?
Having an OCD for destination signs, I'm confident that NJT can program the sign as Jersey City JFK BLVD-61ST into two lines.
But then again, I don't make the destination signs.
I really wonder how the D4000's are actively running out of Oradell. I had the liberty of riding one today on 166T, and boy, the bus can still haul ass on the Turnpike.
NJT finally updated the destination sign for 355 to NY. Instead of New York being on two lines, it takes up the entire destination sign (just like your standard 114 NEW YORK).
As a lifelong rider of 166, I am very happy to see off peak addition of 166T in both direction, especially the last 166T on Saturday is at 11:50 PM.
Also, many Oradell bus operators seem to add the decamp destination sign, on top of their run.
i.e.: 166: New York Local -> 191D New York Express
I think today has to be one of the most memorable ride on Blvd East.
166 Local bus somehow managed to stop at every single stop and pick up passengers from 79th street to North Marginal Road. Last passenger did get off at North Marginal Road!
I debated whether I should get a lottery but realized that I've used my luck for the year...
Westwood garage has its own garage stickers now. Spotted them on 21321, 21314.
It looks similar to Egg Harbor Garage sticker, but with blue background and new MCI cruisers.
Saw a NABI on 166T 2 weeks ago. Thank goodness it was on 4PM run into city and it was the only time in 20+ years of riding NJT where I've seen a non MCI 166 in service.
Saw some D4500's/4000's at Meadowlands graveyard where old CNG buses are stored. Any reason why they are there?
(except for the bus that got destroyed by fire in Old Bridge)
