  1. Despite the Q53 going to CP, LGA is still roughly 20 or so buses short. They can't maintain them with the small space they have due to the renovations, so they sit oos until they get to the bus.

618 was on the Q18, and 187 on the Q33.

Talk about LaGuardia's maintenance problems lol...

  2. That 9836 has been having problems for the longest...That bus just needs to go already. I rode it on the Q53 this summer. Bus sounded horrible.

OH THAT 9836! Last time i caught it, it was sure angry as hell!

Even if CP gets the 53 the Orion V CNG's are done for, in January they're gone, the tanks expire in 2014, they'll give CP something to full in the blank

Call me a foamer but i wish they would send some Orion VII CNG's to CP!!!

  3. Think of the depot like one big gas station. A truck comes and delivers fuel to the building which is stored underground somewhere. A bus pulls up to the pump and gets filled from the tank underground.

CNG I'm not so sure about

With CNG depots, the CNG fueling station is connected to the main natural gas line..

  4. I think the plan orginally was to make CP an ALL Express Depot.... But doing that would have put too much of a strain on LGA

Remember before the fire in LGA they too could've handled CNG's... That fire kinda messed it up for them and then with the addition of MORE routes MORE buses and not enough maintenance to go around that in itself equals disaster waiting to happen

But like I said earlier MTAB is now cleaning up house Depot by Depot

FR is more like an Annex... Most repairs are still done at JFK.. The day FR can be self-sufficient and do its own major repairs will be a great day over at JFK

It was originally planned to transition all of LGA's express routes to CP, while LGA would get two of their former local routes back and possibly the Q66 whenever the transition completes.

Basically LGA has mainly been the dumping grounds for buses that are mostly in their last legs, and the fact that LGA needs all the buses they can get doesn't help the frequency of maintenance issues...
