  1. Lets not say this just yet....

And if your right then its 4900-4940, 4942-4944. 4941 is scrapped its actually shredded into pieces (months ago).

Fresh Pond is right.... All NYCT buses that go to TA bus have to be DOT certified.. If they DO NOT pass inspection then they have to get fixed or whatever is wrong with them. For MTA Bus its mandatory.. NYCT doesn't have to get their buses DOT certified.. I didn't know this until someone told me this summer.

MTA Bus's buses require DOT certification since NYCDOT still funds MTA Bus...

  2. The problem with this is that all buses are rattlers, the 8000s when they were new were rattlers, the 1000s, 5200-5500 series D60HFs were rattlers, hell, the 1997 series RTSs were rattlers, specifically the suburbans! Remember, this is New York City, the streets will make ANYTHING new rattle!

That's a hard thing to do especially when all the new stuff has their issues. Remember when Castleton started getting hybrids? They started recalling those because of issues and the 300s returned to the island!

They take a while to junk the older equipment because they want to make sure that the new stuff is working well over time. It's been evident that the newer 40fters have not been doing all that well with the exception of the CNGs, the C40LFs are doing much better than expected from what I hear, especially with their MDBF.

It's not a "Low Floor thing", it's the technology used in buses in this day and age that's screwing up.

Like I always said, they don't make em' like they used to..

  3. LGA should be getting the artics now... don't get me wrong JFK needs them too but they got theirs already on the Q10 and I believe the Q6 is also slated to start running them soon. That Q70 won't sit well with the hybrids, and the Q53 desperately needs them.

The ONLY way LGA will get those artics is if the QM24/25 gets moved to CP along with the remaining MCIs so that they have enough space to accommodate them..

  4. Oh Shit... I saw it earlier at the same place with the warning lights on.

I have a bad feeling that bus will not go out again...

I'm surprised it was still out there considering the wheelchair lift doesn't work properly

Why does the MTA allow a bus to be in service if the stop request doesn't work and if the bus has leakage problems? I was on a 9600 bus from JA on the Q17 and everyone had to keep getting up and telling the bus driver where they want to get off at. I've been on other buses with that same problem. As far as the leakage problems the bus should be taken out of service because water leaks on a lot of the seats and if you are sitting down water drops constantly hit you. I've notice this on a lot of the RTS's and Orion V/ Orion V CNG's.

I've seen it happen all the time with the new C40LF's as well..

101 is sitting at LGA, with the following on the dashboard: "R/C, Chk Eng, L+, (What's that supposed to mean?), Defect Line". 117 is still there. The only two Bees I saw there. 5218 was at LGA today.

Also, I saw some guys putting up that green thing that people put on fences so that no one can see inside, so if you wanna get shots over by 24th Avenue, you better do it quick.

Plus, Blue Bird #3004 from Academy was doing service on the NYU Langone Medical Center Shuttle.

Sounds like whoever had that bus last time had to road call the bus because of the check engine light..

  5. Why 527 and not an Orion V CNG. Well I hope to ride it when it returns to service. I wonder why there are a lot of depot damages like at JFK or BP's Orion VII's being side swiped by one another or the back is dented.

Idiot drivers who think they can outrun a bus only to mess up in the process when it comes to changing lanes...

  6. Fall pick won't start until sometime during September...

And let's just say there's a dramatically high number of buses OOS at LGA which made loaning the C40LF's and transferring some 5000's a necessary evil as the 7 V CNG's LGA has isn't enough...

If everything goes as planned, the QM24/25 goes to CP and then you *may* start seeing D60's going to LGA during the next pick..

  7. My desktop got cluttered too much on the Windows end that i decided to put most of them on folders to make it easier to access lol.

Upgraded the specs on this MacBook Pro from 4GB DDR3 to 8GB DDR3, and upgraded the HDD for the second time from 320GB to 1TB (originally was shipped with a 250GB HDD)

  8. There was a cable overheating between 104 St and 108 St. It was overheating that bad that somehow it ended up touching the el, causing massive sparks and a major smoke condition...the entire block between 103 St and 108 St was surrounded by FDNY trucks and police cars..
