  1. Nothing can speed up the Q3, not even Limited Stop Service.
  2. Was the bus full? I notice that some n6 drivers don't pick up passangers if the bus is crowded and will let the next bus pick up the passanger.
  3. Your Q114 looks like it runs parallel to the Q40 from Ozone Park to Jamaica.
  4. But the terminal was moved from Astoria to Forest Hills to give it access to the Jamaica Yard. Where do you think those shiny R-160 cars needed to run the from 71st-Continental to Whitehall Street are coming from?
  5. I was trying to say that his plan would result in the experiencing more delays if it ran express to Jamaica-179th Street.
  6. My problem with the F running express to Jamaica-179th Street isn't the terminal. It's the fact that the E and the F will share the express tracks until Kew Gardens-Union Turnpike if this happens, and that the F will have more delays because it will have to wait in the tunnels for the E to leave Union Turnpike on both directions.
  7. I have a hard time picturing who will benefit the most from the running express to Jamaica-179th Street. I fear the the would experience more delays and wait in the tunnel for the train ahead of it to leave the station.
  8. Your new route won't be useful because it's easier to simply take the n31/32 from Central Avenue to Hewlett and transfer for the n1 at Broadway to Green Acres. As for the mall itself, it's not big enough to warrant another bus route from the Queens side.
  9. Why do you want the Q113 to go to Green Acres when it already serves Five Towns?
  10. You're right. I just checked the website, sorry. I don't recall seeing much students making use of the n6express trips to NCC though.
  11. The n16X still exists. The n6x was extended to replace the old n43 extension from Roosevelt Field to Hempstead.
  12. I feel as if very little has changed since Veolia took over the buses in Nassau. I liked that they gave the n16 express service to reduce the crowding on the route between the Terminal and the Student Union Building at NCC. I still have mixed feelings combining the n2 and n8 into one big loop route because I don't see the folks at Hook Creek or Fletcher Avenue taking the route. I kind of hate how NICE extended the n6express to NCC since it runs the risk of overserving the area and causing delays on express service.
  13. Why are there little to no bus stops signs for the Q113 in Nassau County?
  14. The new schedule changes for the summer are up on NICE's website. N6X trips between Hempstead Transit Center and Hofstra/NCC are discontinued until September, only the n1, n6, n40/n41, n70/n71/n72, get minor adjustments on the weekends. http://www.nicebus.com/Passenger-Information/June-22nd-Service-Change.aspx
  15. Compared to the n6, how fast is the Q2 between Hillside and Belmont Park?
  16. Not just the n6, the Q2 and Q110 were also no shows because of the Belmont Stakes. Lots of people were stranded at Hillside Avenue, waiting for the n6 to come an take them home. Some folks gave up and started walking or contacting relatives to pick them up. I just took the n24 to Mineola, and the n40 to get to the transit center. I wonder if things would've been different if the n6 was rerouted off the Hempstead Turnpike, to Jericho Turnpike during the Belmont Stakes.
  17. Most of these proposals look familiar, so I'm not going to comment on most of them. The Q10A isn't going to comeback now that the AirTrain to JFK exists and the Q10 has Limited Stop Service. I don't think that tourists and locals would want to put up with traffic on Van Wyck between Belt Parkway and Atlantic-Hilside Avenue exits.
  18. The Q3 can't use Baisley Blvd to get to JFK because the street ends on North Conduit Avenue with no overpass for veichles to cross the Belt Parkway, and a good portion of Baisley is already served by the 85 between Bedell and Merrick. After Guy R. Brewer, there's nothing on Baisely that would attract potential customers, not even a connection to the Q6 at Rockaway Blvd.
  19. I don't take the bus schedule seriously. I've ridden the n4, and n6 long enough to notice that it comes a few minutes after I exit the train in Jamaica. In the n6's case, I can tell if a Jamaica Bound bus if coming whenever I see the n15, or n31/32 turn on Franklin and Fulton.
  20. I don't believe that the NICE Buses are late. It feels like they underestimate how long it will take a bus to get from Point A to Point B under a certain amount of time.
  21. NICE did change some of the LI Bus signs. I noticed that some of the routes got new signs, like the n16, 27, 35, 43, 45, and 51 along Stewart Avenue in Garden City.
  22. Would it be costly to have the E or the F run local in Queens on Weekends?
