  1. That's right. Exactly what I said before.
  2. But it's only going to be four 10-car trains of R179s. They don't have to send them out to the Rockaways. Think of the current R32 and R68 runs in the PM Rush on the . Pitkin, not 207th. The is based out of Pitkin.
  3. Those are not rush hour specials. Those are the times when the begins/ends service before/after the assumes local service via the tunnel.
  4. The photo isn't mine btw. Posted by some transit employee at the Coney Island Overhaul Shop or whoever else was there.
  5. Holy Christ, I forgot to check the track map thing. Yeah, that's right. There's no diamond crossover before Broadway-Lafayette on the southbound side. I got it mixed up. Whoops. Correction: All Bronx-bound 's should have switched over to the local track after Broadway-Lafayette (unless the aforementioned switch isn't manned except during GOs) and then run on the line to 145th Street. I'm sure it wouldn't have caused much delays at Broadway-Lafayette since some and trains were being rerouted elsewhere in both directions anyway.
  6. They still have northbound trains stop at the 8-car marker at Broadway Junction (meaning it leaves a 60 feet gap in both the front and the rear), as well as Columbus Circle and 116 Street. But yeah, in general, the train does stop all the way at the front in both directions at stations that only have on an exit at either the front or the rear. I was quite surprised trains now stop all the way at the front at Nostrand (southbound) and 96 Street (northbound).
  7. Yeah, agreed. I ride the train regularly. Hardly do I ever see work being done in the area. Maybe I'm wrong. The least they could do is shut down the Jamaica Line between Hewes and Essex if they are willing to restore the switch between the westbound track and the middle track at Essex. But I, for one, actually like the weekend extension to/from Chambers since Summer 2015 last year.
  8. Instead of sending all them S/B 's over the Culver line, they should have just use that X diamond crossover to resume regular service at Bway-Lafayette. Unless that aforementioned crossover isn't manned except during GOs...that is. And as for N/B 's...I don't know.
  9. That's exactly what I was saying in my mind. Or they could have just let the run local to the beach and leave service the way it is.
  10. This change makes no sense. Service Change Posted: 01/13/2016 7:02AM Due to signal problems at Prospect Park, the following service changes are in effect: Southbound trains are running on the line from DeKalb Av to Coney Island-Stillwell Av. Southbound trains are running local from Prospect Park to Brighton Beach. Allow additional travel time.
  11. Around the Horn and CenSin, I've been viewing alot of old threads/posts about the current setup on all 3 Broadway Line services. I've came to the conclusion that the would indeed be far better as a Broadway Local, running to and from Astoria 24/7 and the as a Broadway Express days & eves as well as on Saturday and Sunday (also skipping 49th Street in both directions if there's a punch box at the south end of 5th Avenue-59th Street southbound platform and at the north end of 57th Street-7th Avenue northbound platform respectively). The is local for like 85% of its route anyway, but under no circumstances should it go via the Montague Street Tunnel since almost nobody from the Brighton Line wants local service through Lower Manhattan. When the does come back, the should revert back to express in Manhattan weekdays (local weekends, however, though it would involve unnecessary switching at both 57th Street-7th Avenue and also Canal Street both directions, so perhaps weekend service would be better off local in Manhattan while the runs express to SAS).
  12. Lol at that SubChat thread that I just finished reading all together.
  13. Service Change Posted: 01/11/2016 3:04PM Please be advised that the eastside stairways at 7 Av (MANH) on #B, #D, #E lines are closed due to falling debris external to station. FDNY is on site. Customers can use the 53 St and Broadway stairways instead.

  18. Moving on. So I've decided to eliminate the off-peak express west of Myrtle-B'way. Really, both the and do not run very frequently during the off-peak anyway, and the is one of the least demanding lines in the system from my perspective. It is better off running local to avoid merging delays at both Essex St and Myrtle-B'way. The only interacts with the along its run, so just schedule them to come evenly apart or the in front of the in both directions between Myrtle-B'way and Essex St on the same track. This also allows any rider going to or from Lower Manhattan via the Nassau Street Line for a free connection at Lorimer St-B'way (in my world).
  19. Track work on the 4th Ave express tracks or train storage on the 4th Ave express tracks I assume.
  20. I see now... You are right that it would not look decent at all with only 19 out of the 20 boxes being covered. That's the issue with "WHITE PLAINS RD LCL" and "TO EASTCHESTER-DYRE" respectively. Now I see why you did it the way did, including in the real world. Looks like I was better off just sticking with "BRONX LCL" and "TO DYRE AV" respectively, lol.
  21. I actually wanted it to say "TO EASTCHESTER-DYRE". But that's fine I guess lol. Thanks for everything. Will stop by again in this thread real soon.
