  1. If that happens during the rush, its probably to avoid plugging up the QBL express since the run more frequently than the , and any slight delay on the express causes a ripple effect
  2. Why is there 25mph station time in the 53rd st tube queensbound? Its on the downgrade leaving Lex 53rd, just wemt through on an
  3. Dyre has shuttle buses those weekends I think, and there is track replacement or something along Jerome.
  4. So it seems like I was wrong about the veing totally moved from Jerome to WPR From NYCT twitter https://twitter.com/NYCTSubway/status/833013919455141888
  5. Buried in a train service change for first weekend in March, replaces the in the Bronx to E180. No running at all, shuttle bus 180 to Dyre.
  6. Per the planned service website, a special weekend is running the first 2 weekends in March for a outage. Similar hours as the old extension. Someone can pull the full text from the site.
  7. From what I saw, the signage on the trains was inconsistent from train to train.
  8. Dont understand why anyone would think otherwise. The northern terminals aremt swapped,so there shouldnt be any reason to do a whole fleet swap for this GO
  9. Has anyone else spotted what look like CBTC transponders on the Queens bound tracks of 53rd St and QBL local lines? They are all at the front of the platforms at track level.
  10. Brakes were activated because of signal problems. UPDATED: QNS, E Trains, Signal Problems Due to signal problems at 36 St(Qns), the following service changes are in effect, northbound E trains are running local from Queens Plaza to Forest Hills-71 Av. Expect delays in E, F and R trains in both directions. Allow additional travel time. 2/5/17 4:20 PM NYC
  11. The is also running via Whitehall, presumably to make room for the to run via the bridge and 4 Ave express, and also maybe for the connection at Jay.
  12. This is the exact same derailment (the second one) i referred to in my post.
  13. The second one at the same spot in the past few days
  14. Agreed but I bet dollars to donuts that the was already delayed Queens bound, so there was a delay turning trains at Jamaica. This leaves room to turn some trains, and is necessary to maintain service elsewhere.
  15. There is a double crossover directly west of 21 st since it was formerly a terminal At Kew Gardens the can stay on the express tracks. There are yard leads and a single switch to the other express track east of the station. Someone correct me if i am wrong.
  16. Cait Sith already warned him in the Bus Random Thoughts thread. This behavior is very annoying
  17. The 53rd St tunnel has had signal problems all day today. Wonder if it is related to the weekend work or the FDNY activity this morning?
  18. I would say yes since Broadway is accessible through both 60th st and 63rd St, and for consistency (despite the pack thereof in signage lately)
  19. The one on Woodhaven southbound right before the entrance ramp? I got a QM11 there Monday morning, and a QM40 almost stopped for me but I waved it off. Though TBH I didnt look for the sign. It would be silly to reroute them via Queens Blvd in the morning bc the LIE has the bus lane in the morning. In the evening maybe it would make sense for the QM10/12/40/42 since they come off the bridge but definitely not the 11 since it comes from downtown Was this in the evening or morning?
  20. Just an idea, maybe have the run via 6 Ave local instead of express. I know that would be an additional switching move at W4, but now that it goes to 96th st instead of turning around at 57/6 more people would benefit from not having to wait up to 20 minutes for the at the local stops only to have to transfer to the and wait possibly another 20 minutes.
  21. Not only that, on the FIND, for Jackson Heights the bus transfers read "Q70 • Q47 SBS to LGA" and the announcement is quieter. Lex and 59 transfers read "N•4•5•6•Walk to F Q". Interesting. On another note the new normal Manhattan bound program reads verbatim (no scrolling, better than the old way IMO) WORLD TRADE CTR QUEENS BLVD EXP 53RD ST/8 AV LOCAL And via 63rd still only says VIA 63RD ST VIA 6 AV So much inconsistency with all the new programs
  22. Maybe theyll piggyback on all the Forest Hills interlocking and QBL CBTC work comimg up?
  23. Still wondering what the reason behind it is. Maybe 34th st or West 4th interlocking work?
