  1. I had Flynn, Magri and Welsh-El also for my final yard practical. All cool guys....Welsh-El came off as a bit of a hard ass, but i've heard hes pretty good This might be bad news tho for my class....Flynn is one of TA-18's tss's and if he's reassigned already, there's a chance our TSS's might have been reassined as well.....NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!
  2. These trains really are huge!! Big difference from what you see on the platform!! Who's your TSS's if u don't mind me asking?
  3. $95 for fingerprints...comes out of your 1st check
  4. Lol...I like him. He is really cool and he's mad funny! With him, do your best and he'll give you the best he can. Very good guy
  5. Yea im in the month before you, but TA-19. TSS Cox and ET
  6. Yeah, I've noticed that its easier to stop those trains moving faster than if you're going slow...dynamic brakes are great once u learn to get it right!
  7. I heard they were terrible when the were on the 4 line! The guy I posted with the other day was telling me!
  8. I've defintely noticed it...that while no two trains are the same, the 3's are the ones that have the most differences. I've realized that while they do suck, its all a matter of adjusting to 'em
  9. Wow dude, you're flying thru school car!! I didnt realize you guys were that far along already! Next week is our last week of road posting, then 3 weeks left of schoolcar...almost there!!
  10. Yup, practice will make you better!! During road ops i over ran a sta, i was inches away from hitting 2 signals and some nights my braking was terrible. But you will learn from it all! You'll see a big difference as the weeks pass, especially when you get to road posting!!
  11. Had a scare today at Times Square on the 7. Threw my reverser forward, charged up, did my brake tests and i had the lineup. Released the brakes and wrapped the master controller....after a brief pause(maybe a second) the train lurched back! Luckily my reflex was quick and pulled a full service. Not sure how it happened, but somehow the reverser drum was off centered and the reverser key had come loose after i threw it forward. A RCI and TSS raced to the train. 10 mins later they fixed it. The fact that it lurched back...and we were in a terminal had me shook!!!
  12. I'm not sure you can do that! I might be wrong. I didn't pick what division I wanted till the first day of orientation. At that point, I'm not sure whether you can put your name back on the list. Like I said, I might be wrong....u might wanna look into that furthet
  13. You definitely will not be trained for both A and B, at least not at this time. Not saying it can't happen, but I don't see it happening anytime soon.
  14. Headed to 2nd night of road posting on midnight shift. I cant lie, last night was TOUGH! My eyes started to get extremely heavy on the last leg of my last trip back to 241st on the 2. Luckily my trainer took over once we got to 149th/3rd ave. Feel pretty good operating on 142s. Still need some work, but i think im doing pretty well. Back on 62s today out of 242nd st/VC. Hopefully my operation tonight is good as well
  15. Geez....thats crazy. These 12-9's are happening.so frequent lately....wtf!!
  16. Really?? Around what time was that? I was posting on the 3 out of new lots this afternoon and didnt hear anything about it.
  17. Cool, no prob. Just wanted to make sure your info was correct.
  18. Cool!!! Nice to meet ya dude. The T/O and conductor i was with was also very good and they were really helpful!
  19. i did meet one of the tss on the 5 line....met him while on lunch in the tiny crew room at flatbush...cool guy
  20. OMG. Sorry to hear that bro. Thats the one thing im dreading also. Posted on the 5 today from Dyre to Flat. Got to experience the gap fillers! Was a little nervous at first, but i handled it well. Good day posting overall. My braking is getting better which is good!
  21. Just finished first day of road posting on 7 line and what a day it was! Started out normal, but then sat around at main st after the 1st trip for 3 hours due to power outages around 94th st. No trains in or out of Main st, service was only from 74th st-Times Square! Situation was cleared up and was able to make one last trip. Learned a valuable tip on braking from the T/O that broke me in...overall today was a success!!!
  22. Brakes test??? Where did u read that?? Also, just because you were sworn in doesn't mean they've went all thru your history yet. They dont complete some peoples background checks till after they're in schoolcar. Thats not the case for everyone, but it does happen. So yes, you are hired, but there are certain factors that will decide if you will keep the job
  23. Very happy to say one more hurdle has been crossed....my class all passed our final yard practical!! School car is moving along very well, but its not over yet, we still have to stay on point!!
