  1. I agree with both of you. When I filled out my 21 page booklet at home I only went back to high school for education. I added another page with my elementary and JHS info went I went in for my medical only because I overheard the lady telling the newbies how to fill out the 21 pages and I specifically heard her say back to elementary school. Like I said in my earlier post, you probably don't need to list that far back, but since I heard her say it I didn't want to take the risk
  2. Lol@Gherigfan1.. This doesn't need to turn into a battle! @Warduke, youre right that in the 36 page instruction book it doesnt mention elementary school, and you might be ok not listing it. But i know for sure 100% that during the pre screening the lady says to fill out back to elementary school! I'll never forget that cause i remember feeling like all hope was lost when i heard her say that the day i went back for my medical and final. Like i said, you might be ok not listing it, but i didnt want to risk it
  3. Thats what i thought at first too. When i went back for my medical and final, i heard the lady telling the people that were there for pre screening that they want education from now back to elementary school. I thought i was done for, but thank God they have extra forms there if you need 'em
  4. Lol, yes one is 21 pages...and that one asks you to date back to when you graduated high school....and for education they want everything back to elementary school!! That's a real background check! And like subwayguy said, don't lie about anything...if they find out, you'll get the boot!
  5. Oh ok. I didn't know that was a job someone would be assigned to. I'm a T/O, is that something we would be assigned to as well?
  6. If you're still having trouble finding them, they will accept a passport instead of the birth certificate. As far as the SS card, you can go to the SS office, apply for a replacement card and at the same time get an abstract print out from them that states your name and your social security number. When I went in for my DT, I couldn't find my SS card either. I called the number on the letter and that's what they told me
  7. Yes....I was told they use that process for all O/C lists
  8. Usually from my knowledge, you get a letter for the DT pre-screening and a phone call for the medical
  9. Cool, I'm in 19. We've been learning a lot! Haven't had the chance to hit the road yet, but its cool cause we've been learning and making sure we understand everything!
  10. Im a little curious about something. If there is only one hand thrown switch yard in the entire system, why do we who are in training for the A division have to learn about them?? I dont mind, im just wondering why I'd have to learn 'em if I'm probably never going to encounter them in my division??
  11. In response to the "grass not being greener" all the time down here, i guess people look at it differently. This is definitely a better job in most ways than my previous employment, and thats not to say anything bad about my last employer because i enjoyed working there for the most part. I have no kids and im not married, so although my social life might be put on hold for a little bit, this is a great position for me! I can understand how some people might not like it because of the time it can take from you, but it is what it is!!
  12. YES!! I'm not sure if you'll need your transcripts, but most definitely your degree. Bring everything they listed on the notice they sent you
  13. Dude, you're getting your info from the wrong person!! A lot of the info you put up here is seriously untrue
  14. That really was one of the silliest things I've heard!
  15. I agree, the course was great...they were both really really knowledgeable and made the course very interesting. All the videos and the real life evac scenario was definitely eye opening. I went home and made some changes right away!
  16. It was cool to be on the actual prototype train, but the whole evacuation in the pitch black dark with smoke and the loud sound effects was the worst part I meant. After watching all those videos in the class, that evac scene seemed all too real to me!
  17. Lol..that was the worst part for me!! Scared the crap outta me....lol
  18. I just read your post again...yeah, it would definitely be a bitch to go to the A if you live all the way by Stillwell! Hopefully when its time for you to pick the B won't be full
  19. You'll find out when you report on the 17th. We picked our divisions on the first day. Most people got what they wanted, but a couple people got bumped into the A division unwillingly. Although it might be more of a travel, a lot of TSS's have said that its easier to learn in the A since its smaller
  20. Don't wear jeans or khaki colored pants. Dickies are good or regular black/blue slacks. You can wear boots or shoes, make sure they're black. I saw a lot of people show up in suits and ties, which is cool and acceptable, but not necessary.
  21. Yeah, the actual medical process was pretty smooth and quick for me as well. When it came to the interview however, I was first in line to drop off my paperwork to the Lady at the desk and it still took them about 2 hours to call me up for the interview! Still wasn't as bad as some people. I saw someone post that they didn't get out of there till 5pm!!
  22. If is for medical and final processing or the initial drug test, go to 180, 5th fl. If u go to 130, they will tell u where to go, but its a waste of time!!! Also, if you're going for medical and final processing, be prepared to be there a whileeeee!!
  23. Wow...full definitions. Ok, that's good to know. I've memorized a few so far, but I will continue to drill 'em into my head.
  24. Wow...sucks they failed. @Rtoman, In your opinion, once you studied the book everyday, was the test still as difficult as it seems like in the beginning? I'm sure that as I continue to study it will come naturally to me but I was just curious as to what you thought
