This decision is not good to me. I've been going to Queens via QBL before and during the shutdown, and the (F)via 53rd Street did help with the delays near Queens Plaza, where trains interfere with one another.

It is best for the (M)to run via 63rd Street, and continue running on the local tracks to Forest Hills, and allow for the (F)to be via 53rd Street. This service pattern is popular with riders, and it is sadly being thrown out of the window in favor of how it was prior to the shutdown.

Riders are going to complain about the lack of weekend service on the 63rd St Line and I doubt the (MTA) wants to put money to have the (M) be extended and run full-length trains again on weekends.

Today is the first day where all FR routes have at least one LFS in service. This includes:

    Q11: 9037

    Q21: 9022

    Q22: 9028

    Q35: 9029, 9068

    Q41: 9052, 9063

There's more on the Far Rock routes today. 3 are on the 22 and 35 each.

Thats no issue...Fairview has enough space...They started giving fairview 45 fts early last year to train the drivers on how to deal with 45 footers...Fairview also gonna be a merge garage in the near future with market st and oradell...Thats also a reason why Market street started to learn Fairviews routes..

That doesn’t answer my inquiry as to if the 45-foot MCIs are a benefit or deterrent to normal service on the Fairview lines. You only touched how it’s no problem in terms of managing equipment at the garage. I’m more curious as to how service has gotten better or worse with the 45-footers over the 40-footers, with everyone arguing for both points.

Fairview always had mci's at they garage....It wasnt a problem then why it is now ....They still operate routes that still do require them...Same thing with Market st should have kept theres in my opinion ......Those nabis isnt as reliable as most here think...Trust me i know. Pleanty of breakdown over the years to and from NY and passergers and drivers started to complian about that..Drivers mainly had to keep getting up to close the back door....Basicly turning Nabis into MCI cause now everybody has to exit the front ....Mostly all MCI lines gonna have some sort of dwell time due to the one door in certain areas of the route...190 comes straight to mind...Yes Fairview has routes with tight streets etc...But they mainly have mci there due to reliablity issues due to NY being all they routes terminal...People like to get what they pay for...And people from those areas love they MCI's

I think it can be argued that having the 45 Foot units there is an issue. It didn’t seem that problematic when the 40 foot coaches were there, but with the 9000s and 22000s there the problems with them may of become a bit more noticeable. This is just a hypothesis as I don’t have anything that can back it up or dispute it. Hopefully those in the know do have better arguments.

Nice! Queens will be dominated by LFS coneheads by the end of the year.

I’ve always been curious about the Q41, is it split between JFK and FR because I could have sworn some of its trips interlined with the Q6, Q8 and Q9?

IIRC, the 41 is a JFK route. Far Rock has the 11, 21, 22, and 35.

How come on the roster it says that MCI D4500CL units 3198 and 4306 are saved?

Both buses are still in (MTA) property. 3198 is at a train yard in Brooklyn. Pictures of the bus were shown when the (MTA) had their holiday pop-up sale in December.

Meanwhile 5 years later: 2023-2024 xd40 spotted at eastchester awaiting scrap.

None of the new ones are pending scrap. The only one in the scrap lot is a 2018 unit: 7548.

Looks like Stengel has issues with its maintenance department.
    4682, 7377 CS to JA
    7380, 7386, 7395 CS to QV
    All for maintenance.

Nothing new. They always sent their buses to JA & QV whenever they needed buses to be repaired.

I seen it at the depot but to be honest, there's an error on that part because my mobile device wouldn't let me edit before the hour mark and that I had a lot to do after the midnight shift.

3668 is retired in its place.

Just wait until the bus is towed out of there. Its a bit of a pain to keep up with your posts that sometimes are proven wrong regarding buses with no farebox and/or OMNY readers.

Screenshot_20240306_133949_Chrome.jpg?exXE40 5008 is apparently built (credit to the original owner and this unit is apparently assigned to ENY. Is this true?

Not yet. The bus is still in Minnesota.

And there's no need to post buses in the vendor (The info was already posted in the fleet & depots page). Wait until the buses are present in the depots.

There are a few random Orion VII Next Gens running around that have the cloth seating on a few of the seats, I couldn’t tell you which numbers. Outside of express buses all the local fleets from 2011 and on were delivered with the hard seats.

Some 1200s have the soft covers on the seats as well.

  12. So I had a look at the Eastchester depot today. While the majority of the buses I'm listing were already reported, I still wanted to list what I saw:

4141 & 4142 are sitting on the reserve lot.

    In the scrap lot were the following: 3266, 3424, 3661, 3670, 3675, 3695, 3712, 3754, 3760-3761, 3802, 3806, 3962, 3975, 3984, 4023, 4037, 4040, 4042, 4117, 4267, 4376, 4392-4393, 4415, 4454, 4496, 4532, 4548, 4582, 4646, 7548, 8708
