  1. MTA Press Release: http://www.mta.info/press-release/nyc-transit/manhattan-bound-service-returns-n-stations-sea-beach-line But I don't know how it could be done in 3 days.... at least the major constructions at 8ave look unfinished
  2. Make sense. Some of the platforms are not even close to be finished...
  3. Some of them have "via Sea Beach" -> "Sea Beach Express" okay really worry that riders don't know those trains are running on the Sea Beach.....
  4. How is M34-SBS doing on 34th now? Does it have its dedicated bus lanes?
  5. Again I am sorry for the confusion. However I am surprised that everyone thought of Battery or even tunnel but not the Queens-Midtown... For the purpose of shuttle, wouldn't be better to run crosstown and ended somewhere on westside, maybe Penn or Hudson yards?
  6. Yes Queens-Midtown tunnel lol. Sorry for the confusion.
  7. I wonder if it is possible to have a shuttle bus running from Bedford Av directly to midtown via the tunnel. At least people who transfer from uptown to the now could use that, and relief the stress for and the 14th street shuttle.
  8. is it actually pee or the chemical used for the construction??
  9. This map had been taken down. I guess some sea beach stations (especially 8ave)aren't really yet.
  10. OPTO is not impossible, but if you look at the systems with >300 feet trains and OPTO, there are control rooms on the platforms to assist train crew members in case of emergency
  11. Can they just move and build everything under the park?
  12. Looks like this type of gangway connection is popular in Japan. I wonder such connection could be equipped on regular R211, or even existing NTTs. It is not open gangway, but at least people could move between cars safely. It could help distribute the cword.
  13. Brilliant idea! So we don't have to wait 20 more years to see more T cars
  14. You kidding? Could you go wiki/google some of the systems in the world before making this calm??
  15. http://newqa.mta.info/sites/default/files/mta/2017_winterguide_subway_map_b_with_2_av_subway_1-26-17.pdf Don't know why is still running...... they could just extend to 59st (BKLN) and not have running
  16. You don't spend few billion dollars for a tunnel that's only going to Liberty island lol....extend it to NJ
  17. will be too damn long if it goes to Port Washington....I would say let's pick someone else, maybe ?
  18. Actually both 4Ave and Brighton riders prefer Broadway over 6ave, from my observation
  19. On the full size mezzanine... From my observation at 96st, the big mezzanine indeed makes the platform less crowded. Most people leave the platform when they got off the train instead of finding their ways to the exits on the platforms. Some stations on SAS would be overcrowded already in the first month without those full size mezzanines. But i think it could be done better. People are still packed around the stairs, especially for those without escalators right next to. So the mezzanine is doing fine but some spots on the platform are packed when trains arrive. Having more escalators would help. Entrances might be crowded as well if the ridership keeps growing on SAS. I don't know why they didn't take the advantage of full size mezzanines, to have small entrances located in the middle of the stations. That would help distribute the crowd using the full mezzanines. I understand those could increase the cost of the stations. But they decided to spend $$$ on the full size mezzanines, why can't spend a bit more to make the mezzanines more useful? I hope they will consider those for the phases 2 and 3, or otherwise just build smaller mezzanines
  20. I doubt how popular the will be compared to (or SAS ). People like the SAS because it brings upper east side residents to the west side much easier than before. ------------------------- On the SAS .... One of the options would be swapping the northern terminals for and , where runs on Broadway express, and use 63st to the Queens with same extra s going to SAS. goes to Astoria. This way the and are basically running independently without sharing tracks with anyone else ( all use 60st now, mixing of broadway express, broadway local, and queens blvd local). That would make the Broadway line to be a bit more reliable. Down side.....no yards on the both sides of , and Astoria loses Broadway express service.
  21. Should we expect more and to 96st in late 2017/early 2018? I see every N/B leaves 57st-7av packed everyday during PM rush.
  22. I don't think and could take more people, unfortunately. Otherwise it is a good idea. Maybe that's also the reason why LGA AirTrain is not connecting to Astoria line??
