  1. Also, I just read the appeal form, and they explain it way better, (again, they shouldve clarified from the start). The total percentage for EACH job must add up to 100% and nothing more. So just make sure for each job you keep it under or at 100%.

  2. Lol this whole thing is so bizzare to me. The fact that HUNDREDS of people have this same problem means they did a horrible job of explaining it. IMO this shouldn't even matter. We all dished out $50+ on an exam fee, and all have the experience, why make it such a process? Nonetheless I hope they sort this out, or they're going to have a very short class of station agents coming up

Hey all sorry if this question dont belong here but, I received a email from mta saying I was found not qualified for station agent exam 3607 for the reason
The total percentage of time you selected for the duties you performed during at least one of your jobs exceeded the limit of 100%

I meet all requirements in the application. Does anyone have any input? Thank you

Yeah I got the same thing as well, not sure what thats about

Does anyone think a NTT could go 70 mph (assuming it was on a test track) if their max speed of 55 mph programmed into them was bypassed? The much older R44s famously hit 80 mph during a test on the LIRR.

All the NTT's are capable of speeds of 70+ mph, but the traction motors are electronically programmed to cut out at 55 mph. I've read somewhere that when the R142's first came in, they hit 78 mph in the rockaways.

There isn't even gonna be enough R262s to replace the R142/As, so that's never happening. Plus they're not even that old, and they're needed. Do you ride the Lexington line during any time of the day? If so, you would know that it gets packed over there. We can't afford to cut any extra trains on the A-side right now; we already have a shortage on the B-side.

@texassubwayfan555 didn't say 'overhaul', he said 'refurbishment'. I think he's referring to what the R62As got a few years ago.

@Lawrence St Yes the (F) uses more trains than the (A), but they use 46 not 52, like @Calvin said. @R32 3838 you must've counted the spare factor.

What? I literally ride Lexington everyday, and you don't even have to know it's one of the busiest corridors in the US. Also who said anything about cutting service? We need the extra trains. And yes they are old, by the time the R262's get here they will be almost 30-40 years old. They'll be due for replacement. I'm not suggesting the 262's replace the 142/A's, but whos to say they won't tag on some extra cars during the option order.

Supposedly the R142 and R142A are both getting overhauled/upgraded soon as discussed here. But the last update in that thread was from 2020, and I don't think the MTA has released any more updates about the status of the project.

Do you mind describing or providing any examples of this, as I have never noticed this in any videos of R142a's.

I read about this a while ago, I think this project is dead in the water. Considering how cash strapped they are, i'd be shocked if they're going to bother setting aside funding to upgrade them or just wait until the R262's come in and phase them out altogether.

not enough for house  and car even with 31.  i just reapply for conductor, wondering is t/o exam going to open, i heard they dec this year.

Word on the street is there isnt going to be another T/O exam for a WHILE.  And that C/R exam at the end of this year is promotional, so if you get called for cleaner thats a one way ticket in. And who knows if there will be another one. Plus once you're in, as many others have said there's a lot of opportunity for advancement.

If transit deems your list number unreachable for the title you applied for ie. Conductor then you might get reached out for a offer for Transit Cleaner. Few people here and there once in a while get called for this title from exams such as C/R. It won't be until probably this fall until they start calling people in bulk for cleaner considering the title is always having shortages, they also probably need bodies for snow duty. When you go to 180 bring the original documents. Just to add in you are getting called off this title off of 6601, People who applied for "exam" number 3610 won't get called until after September. Try to get to 180 early as possible as a word of advice mad people will be there at 10am.

Might be a stupid question, but I applied for traffic checker some time ago, my list number was in the 10,000's. Is there any chance they'll take me in as cleaner sooner if I ask? Also if you applied for MNRR cleaner position, is it possible to take any promotional exams within NYCT? or are they separate entities?

How so? The loss of the (3) can partially be replaced by extra (2) trains that end at 135th St.

And the (4) stays express (except between Franklin Av & Utica Av). The only change is that Eastern Pkwy local service starts earlier then it does now.

I second this, I think there were a few weekends where they did just this. And with current ridership levels due to COVID, you could definitely do away with the (3). You could send every other :15x15_px_02: to 148, or reinstitute the shuttle bus

I have seen about half the fluorescent lights of a Dyre Avenue bound (2) and (5) trains turn off at Baychester Avenue as the doors are closing up, only to come back on as it is departing to go to Dyre, and I have not seen the same thing happen on the Manhattan bound platform. I wonder if it was due to a third rail gap within that area, if it was because of a tragic accident at the Dyre platform that happened that led to that policy, or if it came from the older New York, Westchester, and Boston Railroad practice.

I think you could answer this question @Trainmaster5 as you spent most of your time via Dyre, some of it via Bronx Park.

I know exactly what you're talking about, as I've seen it dozens of times on departing (5) trains going N/B. Hoping someone can share some insight as well.

It's most likely a PA-5 since most of their cars are going trough a rebuild and they have a option order that they're building.

But there seems to be a lot of speculation about the R211's, don't cars that are built in Nebraska come to Yonkers for the finishing touches or will the first set come already pre-made?

Idk, Usually when they send those PA-5's to get refurbished, they're almost always unwrapped. Maybe they're trying to keep the 211's from being unveiled for reasons.

I mean will the (L) increase for phase 2? There have been reports of the (L) being standing room only and ridership is expected to increase monday.

I doubt it, but if ridership does increase that's always subject to change. I was just on the (L) yesterday during rush; and was still relatively empty.
