  1. Also, I would up the and , provided you note the requisite capital projects needed to do so.
  2. @RR503 Do you know if any additional speed increases have taken place?
  3. @RR503 Do you have any back-of-the-envelope estimate for the cost of rebuilding Astoria terminal?
  4. @RR503 Why does your frequency chart have the only running at 20 TPH with capital improvements?
  5. @RR503 Why do you elect to improve Burnside over Bedford Park Boulevard? Doing that along with grade-separating the yard leads could allow for express service. Also, why do you leave the at 20 TPH. I would add your proposed Westchester Square conversion.
  6. Great maps! I find it interesting that you elected to extend the to 179th Street in that map to relieve pressure off of Continental. Why extend the over the ?
  7. I agree with you about DeKalb. Earlier on you had posted that you would prefer that operational fixes be made, and then if those failed, then do deinterlining. What finally pushed you to believe in deinterlining there? Do you think any upgrades would be needed at Atlantic Avenue. A transfer should be built between Broadway-Lafayette and Prince Street.
  8. Let's discuss something less controversial. How about 76th Street? 76stsigdia by Union Turnpike, on Flickr
  9. Can we stop endlessly discussing the same things! This is not directed at one person.
  10. I feel that it is appropriate to have a topic for COVID19 and the subway. Here is a GIF I made of box-and-whisker plots of running times on the from 125th Street to Brooklyn Bridge. The lowest number next to each plot is the MIN, the following number is 25% of all running times, the following is 50%, followed by 75% and the Max. I also included NYC and US-relevant COVID19 news that would affect people's decisions whether or not to ride the train. I started work on this in order to look at dwells at Grand Central. Digression: @RR503 has done an exceptional job at thoroughly explaining operational problems in the system, scheduling problems, signaling issues, and the need for better off-peak service. On the forums, especially as of late, we have spent so much time arguing over subway car assignments, which are not that important in the grand scheme of things, but have mostly ignored discussions of operational issues. I hope to become a transportation planner, hopefully in Operations Planning, so I pay a lot of attention to those posts. Also, they are fascinating. Several of the younger posters here, I presume, also want to become the next Andy Byford. For those posters, I would urge you to read those posts, think about them, and to respond to them with your questions and your thoughts. Carry on. Stay safe everyone. I would love to see what you guys think of this GIF. EDIT: If anyone knows how to show GIFs in higher resolution, let me know.
  11. YAY! I just saved that on the webarchive.
  12. I have been in there dozens of times passing by in my family's car but was never able to see the E F G N sign that I had heard was there.
  13. The most I can tell you is that if you happen to know any T/Os or C/Rs, you should ask them about the upcoming pick.
  14. I cannot say. It still might happen. Two subway services would be partially swapped.
  15. Interesting. If you know of any others I would really appreciate it. Thanks.
  16. You should update your website. I would love to see further posts on your proposals there.
  17. A friend of mine got some nice pictures of the sign, which also dates the closure of the entrance. http://indsecondsystem.weebly.com/union-tpke-kew-gardens.html
  18. I don't think you answered one of my questions. How aggressively should runtimes be?
  19. I am looking forward to a six-month study of how well the has done.
