  1. Actually I have been thinking about eliminating the Q20a and dropping the b so it is just Q20. 14 Avenue needs coverage. I would then extend the Q76 to the Q20 terminal along 20 Avenue and College Point Boulevard to replace the Q20a. Getting rid of the Q20b only eliminates coverage on 14 Avenue which is a bad thing.
  2. The should be made express again (but at all times) and have the as the only local since there isn' t demand for two locals on Broadway.
  3. I know. That is why I only would use the metro there. I mean what the hell is the "V7" bus route? Yeah what about the Q20A/B? I know but I didn't include it because there's an extra stop if you take it there. I wouldn't short turn the buses. There are a lot of people that use the Q60 to 2 Avenue, too many to short turn some buses. I in fact think it should be extended (only) three blocks to Lexington Avenue and layover between 59 and 60 Streets to provide connections to the . Also the bunching problems on the Q60 could be fixed by adding SBS and bus lanes. Well tell that to the people who constantly take the wrong train !
  4. Makes no sense. I'm not making any changes to the route, I'm just renaming one of the branches. And on a side note just because a route isn't "broken" doesn't mean it can't be improved.
  5. Anyways how about renaming the Q1 Springfield Boulevard branch the Q1A? It's to reduce confusion so people don't accidentally take the wrong Q1.
  6. I was thinking of just sending it to Lexington Avenue/60 Street to enable transfers to the .....
  7. Just going to say right now I know what the difference between a LTD and an SBS is. I just didn't probably word my post correctly, sorry about that smh. Just pretend I didn't say that.
  8. I never mentioned the Q46 and the Q43 along with the other buses I listed are possible to or currently have SBS
  9. 1. I only used that as an argument against QJT's proposal to send the Q55 to 179 Street since he mentioned having it connect with NICE. The main reason for the extension is to match demand. 2. Okay maybe I should have worded it differently. I know a route doesn't have to be a freakin SBS for it to have bus lanes. And whether MTA/DOT agree with a Q66 SBS or not doesn't change the fact that the Q66 needs one. And when I meant by lots of turns, I was saying a busy route that does that is when you add a limited because you can't give it SBS. SBS works on straight routes. Also why are you telling me stuff I already know? I know that obviously. SBS however requires them otherwise it would travel slower than it's supposed to.
  10. LTD wouldn't work as the buses would still get stuck in traffic so it doesn't solve anything. SBS would include bus only lanes so the buses won't have to get stuck in the hell hole and the stops are further apart so it makes commutes much faster. Limited works for busy routes that make lots of turns like the Q58. SBS is for very busy routes that are straight and operate on wide streets like the B41, B44, B46, M15, M34, M60, Q43, Q44, Q52/53, Q60, Q66, Q113 etc.
  11. Q43 directed that response at me. And yes about NICE to Bronx that's ironic. What I do know is that the guy who proposed it's name is Frederick Wells and Frederick is QJT's actual name. Indeed not surprising. But you still can't take QJT seriously though because he purposely posts bad ideas so he can learn more about the areas where his proposals are in from criticism he gets.
  12. Q60: That route needs SBS. It literally crawls on Queens Boulevard N6: The Q6 also has 3 lanes. That could be knocked down to two as well Q40 Q41 terminal swap: While I do agree with sending the Q40 to 165 Street, I do not agree with truncating the Q41 at Sutphin/Archer. It gets used over there so I wouldn't touch it QJT: Really he says my extension duplicates the train but under thd same logic his duplicates the train. My Q55 still connects with the at Sutphin Boulevard and sending the Q55 to 179 Street is only overkill. And really he says it's to connect to NICE for Nassau. Well mine connects to the LIRR which people would rather use smh.
  13. Oh boy again. You're acting like I'm sending the Q55 to there. What is wrong with having the Q55 connect to the LIRR? And I mentioned it as an argument against QJT's idea to send the Q55 to 179 Street as he said people who would want to go into Nassau County could transfer to NICE. Well my Q55 to Sutphin connects to the LIRR which also goes to Nassau and it's more reliable too.
  14. Yeah but even if the SIR got R46s, the R32s would still be phased out by R179s and the train would get R211s.
  15. Actually SIR will not get R46s. The R44s will stay until the R211s enter service. The R32s will be gone before the R211 enters service.
  16. Oh boy..... you can't be serious! Queens, Brooklyn, Nassau & Suffolk are ALL PART OF LONG ISLAND! And about the Q40 it would do even better if it served the 165 Street terminal as it would connect to a transit hub.
  17. Ridgewood is in Long Island so that didn't make sense. And yes there is one gate at 165 Street that is open (gate 21). However I already proposed sending the Q40 there to use that gate. Also it doesn't need to go to 165 Street either. It's only logical to send the Q55 to Sutphin/Archer since that is where most of the demand is.
  18. The only problems I have with the architect's extension proposal is that given the current issues on the (which includes shortage of trains and overcrowding) it could aggravate those factors.
  19. My proposal isn't redundant to the either. And extending it to 179 Street is overkill. If people want to go to Nassau they use the LIRR. Your Q55 doesn't connect to the LIRR but mine does. Sorry but the Q55 doesn't need to be extended that far. But you are right 165 Street lacks the capacity to fit the Q55. The only route that should be extended there is the Q40 but that's it.
  20. Send the (M) train to Wakefield, Bronx via extension of Astoria Line along with the (N) train and extend it along Union Turpike, lengthen the Myrtle Avenue line platforms so the (M) could be 10 cars long, and restore (G) service to Forest Hills!

      ttcsubwayfan

Ok. And while we're at it, why don't we deploy R62As on the A, B, C and D lines, and extend the J train to Antarctica and the Z train to Australia!

    2. Q90

      Q90

LOL @ this. But I actually want to cut the Z train so the J can make all stops because skip-stop is unreliable because if you get on at a Z only stop but want to get off at a J stop then you have to change trains. Also it barely saves time. And I planned the M extension to relieve the overcrowded Q46 on Union Turnpike and give Queens a direct rail link to the Bronx without having to transfer through Manhattan And the N train would be extended along with the M because the M would use the Astor...

  21. I don't know if this has been discussed before but just today I just read about an architect that proposed an extension to United Station through Hudson Yards, Penn Station, Herald Square, and Grand Central. I personally agree with the part about Penn Station being linked to Grand Central and it looks like a good idea however my only concern is that the is extremely crowded and this extension will cause even more crowding and the has a shortage of trains as well. Read the article here for more information about the routing: http://gothamist.com/2012/01/20/architect_wants_to_extend_l_train_t.php
  22. I do understand why the Q55 ends at Richmond Hill. I'm extending it so more people would use the buses. The demand is there and the Q56 can also at times take a long time to come and ocassionally the during off-peak.
  23. Oh boy I could've been fooled by the sources I look at. Also you have to factor in wait times as well for transfers as it adds time to a journey.
  24. I completely understand what you are saying. It's you who is missing the point. And what does walking have to do with it? It's a two fare zone transferring to the Q56 or train. Since demand is high between Ridgewood and Woodhaven Boulevard/Myrtle Avenue to Jamaica it makes sense to send the Q55 there so it would make the trips of current riders easier and would also attract new riders as well.
