  1. Not uncommon. I managed to catch one back in November.
  2. Since the XD40s are also coming to JFK, it'd be a good idea to send them over there for training.
  3. He meant 9354, though I thought that 9374 was already delivered?
  4. And what about the 2023-2024 Novas for MTA Bus?
  5. Layover space. Having 4 (3 technically) routes would be too much to handle. The Q75 being directed over there would've made things much worse. Then again, the Q75 has no business anywhere other than Jamaica. The previous plan was fine as is.
  6. I didn't know that the Diesel Orion V's used to run on Queens Village routes. I bet they looked pretty well on routes like the Q1 and the Q43. I wonder if there's some pics around with them running under QV.
  7. I agree. UBS Arena feels like an inconvenient spot to short turn, as it's kind of in the middle of nowhere. Looks like NICE are doing their own spin of the proposed Q82 /s
  8. That explains why I didn't see any Limiteds on the Q46 yesterday, but also had my head scratching at the Springfield Blvd short turns later in the evening.
  9. Come to think of it, there are little options for a turn around at that area. I think the only way for the Q55 to turn around is to use 120th Street (since the route profile has it ending at Lefferts Blvd), turn right onto Hillside and continue up to 122nd Street, turn onto said street and then right on Jamaica Avenue to start service.
  10. That's what I thought. I think the 45 is better off at CS.
  11. I was kind of disappointed that there wouldn't be a 73rd Avenue bus service, but I wonder if it had to do with little demand for it. In terms of the Q75, I think they should've kept the old proposal. No reason for it to be in Briarwood at all. In fact, I don't think the Q30 should've been touched at all. --- Now here are my thoughts on the Proposed Final Plan: I will say that the Q10 and Q64 being back to it's current routings, everybody saw this coming, including the Q1/6 split. I had a feeling that the Q14 would stay, as well as the Q82, which the latter I still think it's pointless since it's Hillside Ave version of the Q2 but we'll see how this goes. Q26 loses Springfield Blvd service but at least doesn't suffer from being a rush hour route. The Q37, I was not expecting 24 hour nor JFK service. Seems like the route got itself an upgrade. Q36 is sadly cut from weekend service and instead serves its Little Neck portion. Do people use this branch by the way? I only took it once around 10:20 and it was nearly empty by Union. Q42 maintains its existing route, which is okay. I mean, what business did it have going to Jamaica Hospital anyway? It's like they saw the Q24 wasn't going there anymore and tried to figure out a route to replace it, reversed the numbers, and thought about giving the Q42 some service past to Parsons/Archer. Q45 is now just the previous Q23 proposal, only now it starts from Kew Gardens. I wonder how layover is going to be considering how many buses are bunched up and parked just before the turn onto Queens Blvd on occasion. Of course the Q48 was to be the Glen Oaks branch now. Not complaining btw. Q53 back to Woodside. Good. How were they going to fit that and the Q52 at Victor Moore? Q54 maintains its current routing after Hillside. When taking weekend shuttle buses into account and how many cars have the habit of running the red light at Van Wyck, this was a good choice. Plus, riders from Jamaica don't lose access to the hospital. Q55 is rightfully scaled back, and has a connection with the now. I'm assuming it will use 122nd Street to turn onto Hillside and then Myrtle? Q65 loses Limited service. I think they should've kept it. Oh, and the Q34 is cut. I mean, eh??? Q68. I was kind of thinking it would stay, but at the same time I had my doubts. Kind of surprised it remains on the Final Proposal Plan. Q86 and Q87. Merrick sure got its hands full with these new routes coming around. Q85 24/7 to Green Acres tho??? Q110 is back, but not serving UBS anymore. Though I wonder how well it would fair in Floral Park. This one stood out more.
  12. So, maybe the 14, 45, 75 are speculated to lean towards that of the ones proposed in the New Draft Plan?
  13. I've been hearing that 9029 has begun service on the Q60. Can anyone confirm this?
  14. I had a feeling the Q10/64 combo would be axed. Sending an artic onto Queens Blvd would create some problems depending on the situation, whether it be double parking or any kind of construction in the near future, and need I say about the high ridership? Plus, what business does the Q10 have over at Jewel Avenue? I could imagine the long boarding times at Kew Gardens had the plan gone through.
  15. I disagree on the 53 being truncated there. I doubt there would be enough room for buses to terminate there. Of course, much of the ridership ends at 74 St-Broadway, but still, how would they arrange things so both the 52 and 53 could terminate there?
  16. That was the first thing that came to mind when I saw it for the first time. Not really a bright idea. Kinda like the Q52 in a way. Pretty unnecessary to send it up to the when the Q53 is already doing that. Speaking about that, Broadway and Roosevelt are gonna be f**ked with the amount of traffic thanks to the amount of routes being sent there.
  17. What's everyone's thoughts on the Q54 Limited? Is there a possibility that it will make it onto the final plan?
  18. Speaking of unreliable and not benefitting riders, and sorry if I'm going off topic, but is there any reason why the Q55 should be extended to Jamaica? That just rubs me the wrong way. Like, sure, the 56 is terrible in terms of frequency (next to the 54), but I highly doubt Ridgewood and Glendale riders need a one seat ride to Jamaica. At least, that's what I think.
  19. As of I don't know, maybe yesterday, they're not anymore.
  20. Oh, and to add on from what I was saying. I see they want to use Hillside for the Q54 to enter Jamaica. That wouldn't be all too bad, but what about riders who go to Jamaica Hospital (assuming there are people who use it to go there)? Not only that, but the Q54 would risk more delays on weekends due to the weekend shuttle buses on the , and at all other times, cars coming from the Van Wyck Expressway and heading south blocking eastbound traffic on Hillside.
  21. Can confirm. I live along the line and it is atrocious in both waiting times, and in the case of Woodhaven to 71 Av, speed. There had been times where I just have to take Q10, and then the or the , just to get into Jamaica. Also another thing I've found about the proposal, and it's just a nitpick but still, is that 123rd St and 125th St are set to be removed, yet 124th St isn't, and I always see that stop deserted as hell. It would be cool to see it get the proposed Limited service though. As a kid, after the Q58 got it, I was always wishing for a Q54 Limited. Now that I see how bad the service has gotten in speed and waiting times, I think it's time to give it some Limited service.
  22. Thank God. As someone who takes the Q10 home and to the , I immediately saw a red flag over the proposed combination with the Q64. Like, how the hell are they going to send an Artic bus over to Queens Blvd, where any possible double parking, construction (which not be the case, but still), and the other lane reserved for bikes (which, not much of a problem since vehicles already use it to bypass double parked vehicles, but did Queens Blvd really need it?) causes delays? Yep. Bus lines on Queens Blvd and Kew Gardens Rd already get big, the latter having the issue of the line extending around the block. Extending the route to Electchester would've caused longer boarding times at Union Tpke.
