  1. Awesome, thanks for the update. Would've thought the June 4 class was already filled with how fast they're moving.
  2. Man I had the SAME exact issue when my preemployment letter got lost in the mail (list number 7xx). Had a guy (assuming the same one) telling me the same exact thing over and over again, when I wasn't talking about last list number appointment. Eventually he got annoyed with me and transferred me to Michelle Rivera-Vargas, and she was able to help me and tell me my letter got lost in the mail. Made me realize that there are people there (like that guy) just saying anything to get you off the phone. I would not take any answer from anyone who isn't Michelle Rivera-Vargas, she is very helpful.
  3. Have you tried calling them to see if maybe your letter in the mail got lost?
  4. Wow, crazy how fast they are moving. Not to mention the people that got the temporary operator offer. They must have a HUGE need of conductors and operators.
  5. I went in yesterday, and Emma Rivera (very nice lady) said that there will be a June, July, and PROBABLY August class as well. No exact dates other than June 4, and definitely July but can't say what date exactly.
  6. 347-643-8218. I agree with a previous poster, she is the best. One of the few people over there who actually sounds like she wants to help people.
  7. I agree. This forum is super helpful, and I am extremely grateful to those that come on here and help us newbies.
  8. I COULD be wrong so don't quote me on this, but I think that to defer you simply sign and mail back the preemployment letter. I think it says in capital letters "IF YOU DO NOT DESIRE TO BE CONSIDERED FOR APPOINTMENT, DO NOT REPORT." But again, not 100% sure so maybe someone else could confirm.
  9. If that's the case, he should definitely take the temporary T/O right?
  10. Good problem to have. Do you have to forfeit your conductor spot on the list if you take the T/O? If not, might as well go for it.
  11. Thanks!! But I didn't get the T/O offer. I am still waiting on the conductor preemployment letter. Good luck to you as well!
  12. So the first class was May? Or was there an April class as well?
  13. Every time I have called or e-mailed, I get a different answer, so wouldn't pay too much attention to what they say over the phone. I'm sure it's not on purpose they do it, but they probably have so many things on their plate they are probably all over the place. But last time I checked they said they were up to 600 for preemployment. Again, not sure how accurate that is as there are people on this forum higher than that who claim they got preemployment already. I wish their automated system worked.
  14. Really made me feel better about making the decision. Thank you so much guys. Good luck to all of you in this process as well.
