That's the truth.... I know way to many MTA employees living in projects or worst. But if you also ask me that's bad money management on they part. Living and a busted area but got that new 2018 BMW. So I mean it can be up or down but i say live life as the way it was intended, to the fullest. And when your number get called you make the decision whether or not to take the job base on where you are in your life. Don't wait on them do your thing!

Damn that's outrageous. But you know what... that just makes me wanting the job even more. To really prove to yourself and them TSS that you got what it takes. They can't stop you only you can stand in your way. But now i see why a lot of B/O's say they rather stay up top. Because going down below is truly a headache. Lmao my ninja i wish you the best push thru and make the best of it you never know what the end game can look like unless you see the finish line!

Not really your still looking at least a year before they start calling from that exam. They won't establish that list until after the promotional exam is completely. Plus with the agency running the show now it can be better or worst. Dcas had a sense of direction, had a formula on how to do things compared to MTA. So as of now you just never know.

That makes both of us my ninja. But this the time to wait for the actaully list to be establish and go from there you never know what can happen from here until then. 5 wrong can turn into 3 wrong very quickly i've seen it happen. Best of luck to everyone. Even those who didn't pass. Reason why you should never put all your eggs in one basket. Everything MTA related that you qualify for you should have applied to. 6 chances to get in the door is better then 1 or 2 for that matter....

It would seem that this exam is nearing it's end. MTA just put up filing periods for exam 8600 Oct 6 – 24, 2017 along with others. Check it out here.

oh man that sucks my ninja. I hope it works out I say go and have a heart to heart with them it might work. if not then at least you know when you are ready you'll be among the first people in the next class.

DDC ( defensive driving course ) does nothing when it comes to MTA. On your drivers abstract it still shows up. You still see how many points you have it just shows up that you took the course. Your points aren't removed. The DMV can still see them as well as companies such as MTA. It's only useful for getting cheaper insurance. When you go for pre-employment they print it out in front of you. And every violation that gives you points still shows the total number of points you recived. It's kinda funny because they skip right over the DDC and go straight to counting your points.

As was stated by gotti109 any pending tickets will most likely get you put on hold but if you do get the points you may still be able to get hire as long as you have less than 4 points. My advice is go to court get it over with now rather then wait. Even if you're put on hold because of it you can still reinstate your name after and you keep all your seniority from when your name was first called. From what I know that's for B/O as for T/O same rules may apply simple because this is the first time MTA has added that you need to have a Driver's License for this position. I've read plenty of stories on this forum and most people who's in your situation still end up working for the company. It just take a bit longer then others is all. Oh without a doubt. When I said work up that was towards myself.

I try not to get myself work up over the pay rates. Means nothing if you can't even get it... smh. I just need MTA to open that door just a little crack is all i'm looking for so I can kick it in and full force!

To be honest with you i don't believe your chances are done. It only hurts how quickly you'll get hire. My personal opinion. Like say they call you in next year 2018 june they most likely gonna put you on hold until after 3 years has pass from when you first got the ticket in 2017 june. So in june of 2020 you'll be able to reinstate your name on the list which hopefully it'll still be in play. Plus you can't have more then 4 points on your license either at time of hire. So my advice to you is start fresh clean up your license and stay out of trouble starting now. Best of luck to you!

I have now since you mention it. That is bananas. Here's the link for those wondering. It was a female who they said was only on the job for a week damn. Not a good look at all for her and MTA. Plus someone was injured as well and 6 cars danger...

Oh they having one of those summer break periods. I've read that on other forums and treads they usually have a stoppage during the July, August months. Hey look at it this way it'll give you some time to actually enjoy your summer a bit before you don't have one for a few years.

Since I believe this is the last weekend for test takers for this exam... wanna wish everyone good luck. And remember use every bit of time MTA gives you. Even if you finish with 30 minutes left do yourself a huge favor and go over your answers you never know what you might catch. Good hurting!!!

I have that same attitude. YES - B is more desirable but A - B doesn't make a difference it'll work out for the best I truly believe that..

Honestly some people get comfortable and change is a bit much for them. This one B/O Dispatcher I known for years said to me that he knows people who put they name on the promotional list but don't have any intentions on leaving they position because they're comfortable. They not trying to go thru months of training and being a extra extra when they got it made now. So I ask why they even do it then and he said simply because it's something to talk about amongst each other lmao. I just read on another thread that people are turning down the position base off not getting the division they want.
