Makes sense, like a conductor on a train. They could also sell tickets to people that didn't get their ticket at a bus stop on the bus, but with a penalty fee.

Things I've noticed at Castleton Depot (New York City Transit)
Buses 7056 & 7067 have the " Bus" logo on them.
Bus 7055 just has the "" logo on it, like on the Cuomo scheme buses.
Bus 7030 has no logos at all and just a blue stripe.
For the X31 bus with runs via nj pm and via Brooklyn am, can a bus driver choose to go the other way if traffic is backed up on way. (i.e. A X31 AM bus driver sees backed up traffic in Brooklyn and it's quicker to go via nj. Makes a route change and goes to midtown via. Nj.)
But the S53 could use limited service as in this plan,
