  1. I have two questions based on what everyone said: 1. Has the studied Broadway deinterlining yet? 2. When will the 36-38 St yard be used for revenue trains? (And if possible that the could be stored there, would they move the service to Astoria?)
  2. I didn't propose it, @LaGuardia Link N Tra did (unless you specifically mean the replacement segment I was talking about)
  3. It does seem to have a parallel to a lot of the Q58 already, but given that the Q58 doesn't directly go to Queens Center, it might work. The route itself though, would be a bit short. Perhaps it could be used to get rid of some part of the Q38 loop or whatnot.
  4. I would say officially, it's viewed as a subway but has the look and feel of a railroad (not like MNRR and LIRR but somewhere lower quality)
  5. Well yea, there has to have been, in devising all the different ways to connect Staten Island with Manhattan, but these ideas will keep looming and cycling...
  6. I would say yes (Staten Island Railway). It even acts more like a railroad than a subway.
  7. One thing to note is that specifically Bay Ridge pols and residents are asking for this. The is not a good indication of ridership levels on the because the is the only line to serve Bay Ridge, while the all serve 59-Atlantic
  8. I had this pipe dream in mind but had no idea how to implement it because of all those services on DeKalb, and also the fact that some riders would probably not happy that their train would go via Montague, but if the were to run express in Manhattan, this is the way to go.
  9. Me personally, I say call it the , call it an extended , a or a , even a ... as long as we have some sort of reliable service, I'm fine with it (although admittedly it would be cool to see a Nassau line run there).
  10. With OMNY rolling out, it will be interesting to see how student metrocards will be applied onto it...
  11. I should have been more clear. I wrote "West End/Sea Beach" because whether the new would go to West End (to 9 Av, Bay Pkwy, etc.) or Sea Beach (Bay Pkwy, 86 St, etc.) would be dependent on the communities there and what they would want to have. Since there are some trains that already goes to Sea Beach during rush hours though, I'd say to have the go to West End and reinstate that 36 St and merge, with the still running over West End. But like I said in an earlier post, we can reroute trains all we want but if we improve our infrastructure that's when the will really shine. I know some Sea Beach residents that are disgusted with the and it's shameful lol.
  12. What they didn't mention is the number of falling objects have increased! 🤔
  13. I came up with this: Bay Ridge-Essex St 4 Av Local (via Montague) Nassau St Local Sea Beach-SAS Sea Beach Local 4 Av Express (via Bridge) Broadway Express 2 Av Local West End/Sea Beach-Astoria West End/Sea Beach Local 4 Av Local (via Montague) Broadway Local Astoria Local Whitehall-Forest Hills Broadway Local Queens Blvd Local same This way, even if the doesn't go to Coney Island it can still easily access Jamaica yard, and the should be able to access Coney Island yard easily as well. The troubling thing here is the will need to have some extra mileage... I don't know the specifics but a lot of people have been suggesting the to Nassau as a split , how it will access a yard (likely Coney Island) is uncertain. However, its route will be short so it might not be that bad.
  14. Not really. He suggested a lot of short-term fixes (at least shouldn't require years worth of work), but the main problem is how to do it and when the will actually do them.
  15. Not necessarily. You can get away with performing a reroute while STILL deinterlining Broadway. The is also putting dwell times as a long term problem, saying that the R211s will replace the R46s in a couple of years... a lot of people will die before that happens.
  16. This is the only thing I can see them doing based on what all of you have said, since everything else has some sort of big problem. Someone might have suggested this already, but I'm only listing what's possible: Bay Ridge-Essex St 4 Av Local (via Montague) Nassau St Local (removes and platforming) Sea Beach-SAS Sea Beach Local 4 Av Express (via Bridge) Broadway Express 2 Av Local West End/Sea Beach-Astoria West End/Sea Beach Local 4 Av Local (via Montague) Broadway Local Astoria Local Whitehall-Forest Hills Broadway Local Queens Blvd Local same Not so sure about what the and should do in Queens, but I don't know about having the being the sole representer for Astoria
  17. I can't say I agree with your other points, but yes half-fare metrocards are DUMB, and so are bus-only cards
  18. Realistically though, if the has any sort of brain when it comes to improving service, they would develop new infrastructure and not have to reroute trains everywhere. I knew it was stupid.
  19. This is why students are given student metrocards... but once it's either summer or the weekend they decide it's ok to not pay the fare. Btw sorry for the double post but a glitch happened.
  20. This disaster of a plan is the only thing I could come up with that would not change the existing infrastructure, but would allow the to run express on Queens Blvd and give it some sort of help with the least amount of merges: Bay Ridge-Jamaica Center 4 Av Local Broadway Local (via Montague) (merges with ) Queens Blvd Express (merges with ) Whitehall St-96 St Broadway Local (Whitehall-Canal St) Broadway Express (Canal St-57 St) (merges with ) 2 Av Local Coney Island-96 St Brighton Local (merges with ) Broadway Express (merges with ) (via Bridge) 2 Av Local Coney Island-Astoria Sea Beach Local 4 Av Express (merges with ) Broadway Local (via Bridge) (merges with ) Astoria Local World Trade Center-Forest Hills 8 Av Local (merges with ) Queens Blvd Local (merges with ) *some rush hour trips to Jamaica Center* Coney Island-Jamaica 179 St Culver Local 6 Av Local Queens Blvd Express (21 St-Forest Hills) (merges with ) Queens Blvd Local (Forest Hills-Briarwood)
  21. Yes. It sounds silly, but it would probably convenience more riders.
