  1. My hot take: Metrocards should be free for students under 18, period. At any time (just like London). The restrictions will only encourage farebeating. I don't, but you see other students doing it all the time, even when they have free cards.
  2. I can check for this and take a picture if I see it over the weekend. Also, overall, I have generally noticed that a lot of these plans have to sacrifice something else in the B Division that may be valuable. I still think having a would just be the easy way out, although that proposal's issues aren't unheeded either. But I do still think it would be better than adding supplement routes that stem from what are already long routes that may be unreliable themselves and would create an even bigger ripple effect than what we have today in terms of delays on the . After all, the only reason these plans are being talked about is due to the 's unreliability.
  3. Caught Inwood-bound at Columbus Circle at around 4:30-4:40 PM today
  4. Finally! Now there's double the chance to catch an R179 Is this one not trackable as well?
  5. I think saying the R46s got a "makeover" is a bit extreme, pal.
  6. Although this impression... saying that they'll "look into it" makes it seem like they'll come to the same conclusions that we already have within our thread and realize that there might be too many downsides to each proposal... you never know, though.
  7. Side note: This morning I took a northbound between 7:15 and 7:30 AM and there did seem to be a 17 minutes gap between trains when in reality, the train that departed was not trackable (have no idea why).
  8. What about a street-to-platform elevator Bay Ridge-bound only? Could that be built to make the station at least partially accessible? I suppose that would not be favorable though, for obvious reasons.
  9. ESI on Bay Ridge Av was the perfect time to add accessibility. But now that it's done the station will not receive an elevator anytime soon. Very bad news for the old folks traveling frequently up the stairs. All Bay Ridge stations could've soon been accessible.
  10. To get an idea of just how messed up B8 service is, even when they provide extra service, they mess it up. Two Brownsville-bound B8s leave at the same time (one a minute behind the other) from the 95 St terminal and they automatically bunch. Can't even blame traffic for that one. And it's not the B6 either.
  11. Interesting how they decide to cut the S78 when there's barely enough service for the S79 on weekends at any time... practically no room on the bus between 86 St and Seaview Av even when buses are not bunching and the next bus is 14 min away... To clarify, I get that the S78 is not as heavily used as the S79, but to cut the S78 and leave the S79 hanging will only make things worse.
  12. I've been noticing more refurbished R160s on the , not so much this week but last week
  13. I'd say they work 50% of the time... like what is up with those screens?
  14. Good news is the B63 increase, and finally more than 2 bph on the B4!!
  15. The comments will tell you everything you need to know about that... Incompetence
  16. You know what, this is kind of true. After all, why run away from the police if you have nothing to hide? The only thing BusTrek featured was exactly how poorly the was running its services anyway, and we have a multitude of other apps for public use to track buses.
  17. How are the people in the Bronx supposed to take the ?
  18. Are there any plans for M66 SBS or is that not needed
  19. So why not just give the stations greater stop spacing in the suburbs? They obviously won't be as needed anyway, since those communities would not be as populated. You can give each stop in central NYC about 1/2 mile spacing and everything else ~1 mile.
