  1. No buses for fright fest this year???? https://www.njtransit.com/sixflags
  2. It has now been over a year with complete silence.
  3. I can confirm that neither the app nor the fare machines let you buy the ticket you need to take the 67 from Newark to Seaside Heights. Cash only on bus.
  4. Its not entitlement, it's piss poor design by NJT. NYC buses have a full color screen (like a TV) showing upcoming stops. Why cant NJT provide information to customers? Why on earth are they sending out new buses with the same (usually static) red LED screen from 1981? Speaking of, Im trying to find info on the fare between Newark+Seaside Heights. As far as I can tell, the pdf map doesnt show fare zones. The trip planner says $17, but no info on zones. The app does not give seaside heights as an option, just asks for the number of zones. The fare chart on the website? Doesnt show any fare costing $17. How are they so bad at giving info on their services?
  5. Is it possible to buy a flex pass and activate more than one at a time to travel with a buddy?
  6. I use the 62 and Go28 frequently and 25% of the time, the sign is wrong at the airport
  7. One of the easiest ways to simplify fares would be to merge zone 1 and 2, and make that $2, with a free transfer
  8. I bought an excursion roundtrip to AC. According to the website, the price is the same via Newark or NYC. I left from Newark, but to come back, the only option was NYC. There are NYC buses every hour, but just one daily to newark. Well driver said my ticket didnt have enough zones. I told him I bought the excursion and the dollar price is printed on the damn thing and its the same price to NYC or Newark. He gave me a lot of attitude but let me on. Why would NJT sell it that way? I mean on top of it I then had to pay another $6 to get to newark which is where I wanted to go
  9. While there are certainly runs where maximum sitting capacity is key (like you said, leaving PABT), there are other runs like the 1 and the 13 where maximum door capacity is what is needed since people get on and off every block. And standing would be easier if the run didnt take so long due to the lack of doors
  10. Have they fired the person who decided to order articulated buses with just 2 doors? Or is it intentional to create the longest possible running time? Riding the 1 or 13 when its crowded means every two blocks youre stopped for 2+ minutes as people struggle to get off.
  11. Yes, previous summers they would run express that was 30 minutes faster
  12. No, the summer service thats supposed to be better, not worse. Express trips that dont require a transfer at Long Branch. Ran every summer until 2017/2018
  13. Why are there little buses in Atlantic City, presumably 30 feet? Only one door, are they insane? My bus (505) was standing room. Also, instead of having a ledge to place bags, there is just a ton of wasted unusable space between the wheel column and the first seat
  14. Great, because we want to do a REAL excursion (ie, take the rail one way and the bus the other way)
  15. Question about the NJT excursion tickets between NYC and AC. Hypothetically, could one buy the excursion ticket (round trip) and use them one-way with a second person?
  16. If Suburban does keep this kind of schedule indefinitely, there definitely is a need for local bus service between NB and Princeton along 27. Once every 2 hours doesnt cut it
  17. My understanding was that NJT cannot launch a competing route, is that correct?
  18. So private carriers are able to monopolize a route without the need to meet any kinds of service standards?
  19. Have they said anything about when they are showing the responses to the feedback?
  20. Suburban Transit has been operating bare-bones service between Princeton and New Brunswick for over 2 years now. While the first 6 months or so made sense, theres no excuse for failing to restore the local service. Does NJT have any requirements they must meet to keep the route or can they do this forever?
  21. But at the same time, every time a town does a road project, NJT attends the meetings and demands wider lanes. NJT blocked a bike lane project in Jersey City because they said if the bike lane was put in, they would ban the drivers from stopping along that roadway due to the "danger" created. So NJT does have power, but they use it badly. Ive never heard of NJ threatening to stop service if a town doesnt make their bus stop ADA accessible.
  22. Seems like a broken system. Is the solution a state level law giving NJT more power? I also complained to NJT that two of their bus stops are in a place where parking is explicitly allowed by the signs. The response was basically "cool story bro". I would have thought they at least have a government relations person on staff to call up the town and get that sorted.
  23. Im still confused. Youre saying someone at Kearny City Hall called up NJT and said "we want your buses to stop here, but also, please dont put up a sign to tell people about it?" And NJT says "sure thing boss"
