My guess is that all stainless steel 21000s for private carriers (21243-21245, 21247-21300, 21303-21306) will be returning to NJT. This gives a total of about 60 buses, and combined with the 50 DeCamp 17000s I wouldn't be surprised if the CRT order gets cancelled (although not sure if 21245 and 21248 have been fixed since the fires though).
All buses up to 26016 are delivered. All buses up to 26013 are active. Liveries of newly active units are listed below.
26006: default
26010: Frick Chemistry Lab Atrium
26011: Princeton Solar Collector Field
26012: Lewis Arts Complex
All ex-OCTA D40LFs have been retired. It's about time...the oldest are now 28 years old.
Per a Facebook post, 6 1998-2000 MCI 102-DWA3 CNGs were spotted at an empty mill south of Ball Ground, GA. 7035, 7036, and 7039 were among those parked there.
Older Rutgers ElDorados are starting to bite the dust. 4183, 4186, 4196, and 1011 all failed NJDOT inspection recently with no inspection performed. If I recall a failed inspection with inspection not performed was how 1493 and 1500 were formally retired last year.
Some updates:
All Rutgers 2023 ENC Axess BRT 40' in Year 1 (4032-4041) are active.
Rutgers Ex-Princeton 2015 ElDorado E-Z Rider BRT 30' (4125-4126) to College of Staten Island
College of Staten Island 2014 ElDorado Axess BRT 40' (4049) retired
191D, 192D, 195D and 199D can become 101, 102, 105, and 109 respectively. Those numbers aren't used and will go with the other interstate Essex County routes (107 & 108)
As of 4/14/23
4032-4035, 4037-4039, 4041 are inspected/active. 4039 finally passed inspection yesterday.
4036 recalled and returned to ENC.
Still nothing on 4040.
If NJT takes them back, that means there would be a continuous block of NJT-livery 17xxx cruisers 17063-17120. I could see some going to Wayne to replace the 7100s and 9000s and Oradell to finally replace the remaining D4000s. I doubt they'd go to South Jersey as South Jersey is supposed to get the bulk of the D45 CRTs.
Yeah I think they're identical to the ones on College of Staten Island's 4002-4004. First Transit probably went with the smaller ones for the 12 buses that have them just to test it out for the new ElDorados, although I think their original plan was to retrofit all buses in the fleet with it. That's why last year some 2011 ElDorados (4195 and 4211 come to mind) had their rear sign missing for a while lol.
