  1. Ok my opinion on the current announcements Best of the announcement sets by far in my opinion. They are extremely quick while at the same time being completely understandable by the average rider. It also helps that the majority of the original announcements remain and were not modified or mismatched like some of the others below. I prefer the version of the next stop is cause the sounds a bit too monotone for my liking Neutral over them I Don't hate them, but I also don't particularly like them either. Sounds great. The main problem I have is that "THE NEXT STOP IS" sounds a bit too aggressive and authoritative for my standards and it’s does really sound right being paired with the original more soft-spoken destination and stop announcements. I prefer the older version of this the next stop is announcements My favorite of the Cowdery recordings, but that because they were mostly recorded back in 2001 when she didn't sound way too cheerful like she does on Broadway, or death warmed over as she does with the later Queens Blvd recordings. Cowdery's later recordings for the 160s I’m neutral but they either swung between too cheerful or beyond dead. The next stop is announcements sounds as if Cowdery’s trying too hard to be forceful while missing the mark the BMT Eastern Division version would’ve sounded better. WTF MTA. This sounds like an spliced Frankenstein abomination experiment gone horribly wrong, Look MTA if y’all can’t get Annie Bergen to update some of the announcements, y’all really should've just someone else to do the entire set all over again. I’m satisfied that they at they're making an effort to fix some of the problems with the set, especially regarding the awful splicing, but there are still a whole bunch issues that need to be resolved. Arguably the weakest next stop is announcements from Ms. Cowdery. It’s Way too slow monotone and droning for my taste. It sounds like Ms. Cowdery was either tired sleepy or gotten drunk before stepping into the recording booth. I agree with how the and should sound I believe that a new women will voice the but Kathleen and Cowdery would be even better
  2. Hello everyone If the MTA creates new routes like the T and 8 trains trains or bring back routes like H and K. What voices would the announcements be I was thinking that the K and T train could have the announcements voiced by Catherine Cowdery with the next stop is announcements sounding like the G 7 and V trains. And the H train could have the announcements voiced by Kathleen Campion and the next stop is announcements sounding like the A C trains. The K train could alternatively be voiced by Kathleen Campion and the next stop is announcements sounding like the F train. This isn’t an official proposal it’s more of what if scenario i bring this up cause I believe that the first step in making new MTA routes is looking for a women to voice the announcements.

  4. Am I the only one that sees deinterlining Roger Juction to cause more harm than good. Like for example a whole bunch of people uses the Lexington Avenue line of the Nostand Avenue line and people use the 7th Avenue line on New lots ave line. Besides how the hell would 3 train get to a train yard. Besides I believe that they are other way to fix roger Juction to allow for any connection easier
  5. Well if the went to Bay Ridge 95th Street wouldn’t the terminate at City Hall. And I too agree that the should have an official Brooklyn route. Maybe during Rush Hours it could be extended to Bay Parkway via West End line while the continues to Coney Island basically replicating the old rush hour route. I believe that would give the more purpose rather than feeling like a mere local counterpart to the and And unlike the fomer brown the people would “actually” ride A rebuilding the culver shuttle. Well that might help riders out too. I wounded if the could be connected to the 4th Avenue line
  6. Here’s a question how festable would a 4 track 3rd Avenue Line building. So I propose having The T train start at White plains rd gun hill rd transfer to the 2 and 5 trains. Then it will go to Williams bridge Gun hill rd meeting up with the V train. The T train will be the full time local the V train will be the weekday only express. Local service only stops 204 st 187th st 180st st 171st st Claremont pkwy 168th st 163rd st 156th st Local and Express service stops Bedford park blvd Fordham plaza Tremont Park 177th st 3 ave 149th st 3 ave 138th st They both trains will run to Manhattan via the 3rd ave tunnel. The 2nd ave express tracks would be build on the lower level

  8. Welcome to this funny thread I created post any comic/Countryball like parody related to the MTA
  9. I think I going to start a subway comedy show thread stay tuned
  10. How did the idea came about? Why was it build? Was the 6th Avenue line always meant to go there? Why wasn’t Grand Street build to be converted to island platforms for 2nd Avenue? Wasn’t the 6th Avenue and 8th Avenue line supposed sent to Williamburg? Was the 2nd Avenue line supposed to be sent on the Manhattan Bridge?
  11. That’s why I strongly recommend the building of a new Northern Blvd line to send some train down there for deinterling
  12. Like the feedback from my SAS-Culver link proposal. Here’s another proposal that would kill two birds with one stone would be building the SAS-Northern Blvd line Northern Blvd is wide enough for a 4 track subway but I believe 3 tracks would do just as good as well and would greatly reduce subway congestion at Jackson Heights for both the IND Queens Blvd Line and the IRT Flushing Line 7 train. It would be a duel Manhattan and crosstown branch line The first part of this plan would be to expand the current 2nd Avenue plan. I propose building phase 3 with express tracks where a new line would branch using the existing 63rd street tunnel. The reasoning why I propose Northern Blvd/2nd Ave express trains using the 63rd St tunnel. Is that It would allow would allow riders coming from 6th Ave, Queens blvd, Hillside the chance to easily transfer to the 2nd Ave Subway. Both tunnels would meet at a new station in Sunnyside Yards and continue as 4 tracks east under Northern Blvd. On court square the tracks would be connected to the tracks of northern blvd allowing for the G train to be extended via Northern Blvd The crosstown G train would branch out to Whitestone expressway and run to college point blvd. The Manhattan i name it either H train or K train 2nd Avenue Express. I’m proposing to connect it to the Rockway Branch line. Alternatively you could kill two birds with one stone by having the Northern Blvd line cross Grand Central Parkway follow the Cuomo Airtrain and sent the 2nd Avenue K train to LaGuardia Airport It conclusion this line would feature an extended crosstown G train and a new 2nd Avenue line. And for the long overdue replacement for the 3rd Avenue line. Here’s how I would want it to be like. The connection to Bronx, so for the Bronx connection build a new 4 track line across 3rd Avenue and Webster Avenue a very hugely populated place in the Bronx. This would be used for the T and V trains. The T train would be local 24/7 and the V train would be express operating weekdays only the express would than lower in 143rd st. The tunnel to Manhattan would be split like this The upper local level would go to Manhattan via Lincoln Avenue and the lower express level would go to Manhattan via a tunnel underneath the 3rd Avenue bridge The local only stops would be 181st st Claremont pkwy 168th st Melrose 163rd st 156th st The local and express stops would be Bedford Park Blvd Fordham plaza Tremont Park 177th st 3 ave 149th st 3 ave 138th st And with phase 1 build the way it is the express tracks would need to be build underneath but here’s a bonus way we can do this first build the express tracks with connections to 125th street the V train would be the express, Again weekdays only since there won’t really a demand for full time express in East Harlem. It would skip 116th 106th 96th and 86th streets and it would then head down to 2nd Avenue at 81st street than 72nd street would be build with connections to the lower level Yes 72nd street would be an express stop.
  13. Here’s a question will the R262s go to the since they have R62s/R62As or will the fleet swap based off of ridership levels. I was thinking that the fleet could look like this. R262s R142s R142As R142s R262s R142As R142s R262s R188s 42 street shuttle R262s
  14. Thanks for the answer. If it’s expensive and the ridership won’t be high enough to justify that cost then the 2nd Avenue-Culver link could be modified to the 2nd Avenue line V train running local to Church Avenue while the F train runs express between Jay Street and Church Avenue. Again this would be weekdays only weekends and late nights the F train runs local all the way. I’m not sure if the express service will still be effective
  15. Hello everyone I’m going to modify my proposal for the 2nd Avenue line. This includes building a new northern Blvd line and rebuilding the 3rd Avenue line I just need to make sure that it’s worth it to have them build at 4 tracks or if 3 tracks will be good enough.
  16. Here’s a question why isn’t the entire culver line 4 tracks. I was wondering if it would be justifiable to covert it to 4 tracks as co part of a expanded 2nd Avenue line plan. My proposal is to replace the with a restore 2nd ave V train would run express to king highway during weekdays only. But I just need to see the ridership to see if it’s worth it. I heard culver wants express service.
  17. is this even a valid excuse 0, while not used publicly, is used as the internal designation of the 42nd Street Shuttle. H is the Rockaway Park Shuttle's internal route designator, which has occasionally been used publicly, most notably from 1986–93 and again in 2012–13 following Hurricane Sandy. I has never been used due to its visual similarity to the number 1 and sounds like the word eye. O has never been used due to its visual similarity to the number 0 and sounds like the word oh. P has never actually been used, as it sounds like the word "pea" or the slang term "pee" (a colloquialism for urine). U has never been used, as it sounds like the word "you". X is used as a placeholder for routes under development. Y has never been used, as it sounds like the word "why".
  18. Hello I’m new here. But allow me to describe the future of CBTC for IRT. I have great fate in the CBTC system. But the Lexington Avenue line I feel will be tricker. So here’s how I recommend they do it Phase 1 First Have the run express between 125th Street-Grand Central 42nd Street for a few weekends Next Have the run local between 125th Street-Grand Central 42nd Street for another few weekends (note these would be done in a separate order) Phase 2 Next Have the run local between Grand Central 42nd Street and Brooklyn Bridge City Hall for a few weekends Have the run express between Grand Central 42nd Street and Brooklyn Bridge City Hall for another few weekends (again this would be on separate weekends) Phase 3 Have the run fully local and only run it up to Brooklyn Bridge City Hall. Have the run express and only up to Grand Central 42nd Street. Brooklyn service replaced by I believe you can get the CBTC work done. This will have to wait for the R262s to be delivered since the switching equipment is a huge no no. The R262s will definitely go to the but They might also go to the since they have R62s
  19. I know I’m in the minority when I said this but I believe that we shouldn’t “fully” deinterline the subway. They are some cases where interlining is actually needed for the service the to work IRT being the most notable example. Eliminating train service and Senting the train to dyre Avenue is a huge red flag The White Plains Road riders uses the train to get to the Lexington Avenue line. How the hell are people going to get to the east side without it. The Metro North won’t even be an effective replacement. 149th Street Grand Concourse will become a crowded nightmare. The 2 and 4 trains are already overcrowded with the way the system currently is. Removing the 5 train will worsen things since now that forces riders to use the and train and transfer at 149 street with was not built to handle a huge amount of transfers riders will have to get off the “overcrowded” train for a “overcrowded” train. The and as well will become even more crowded then ever before this is especially the case with the since that leaves the as literally the only direct route to Manhattan’s east side from anywhere in the South or East Bronx. If the both serve The Bronx, there is no longer any service to the 145th Street or Harlem – 148th Street stations on the coverting that part into a shuttle isn’t the best option either since that would be screwing over everyone trying to get to midtown and Brooklyn on Harlem. And it’s actually a good thing that the doesn’t go into the Bronx. Reason? Go on to the abd you will notice that it get crowded real fast heck but 3 ave 149th street it’s nearly impossible to get on it so the train being pretty empty in Harlem is a very popular alternative for the packed trains. (See what I’m talking about) So believe or not deinterling IRT actually does more **harm** than “good”. So Interling is actually **necessary** for IRT to work. Trust me I’m a daily train rider I see how those trains operate And for Rogers junction let’s face it it will never be perfect so their no use in even trying at this point. It actually works out. A lot of people use the train on nostrand Avenue to get to Lexington Avenue. And a lot of people on the New Lots Avenue uses the train to get to 7th Avenue and the train needs quick access to the Livonia Yard. So IRT just leave it the way it is
  20. I agree with you there railfans and formers are just gonna need to just deal with the fact that train cars don’t last forever. For the R262s you think they will be going on to the 42nd Street since they have R62/As
  21. Impressive I didn’t even know that they was 67 foot long train cars. I did some math and saw that 67x9=603 maybe the mta could consider build a prototype R211 67 foot long 9 car set. But extending it to 670 foot long would definite benefit. What would the inside of the train car loom like. I think we should talk more about this in the fleet swap conversation
  22. The case for a new Northern Blvd line So the reason why I bring this up is because as we all know that the 7 train is a very crowded train line. I would love to see the G train extended back to queens blvd this will certainly help some riders it won’t do anything for the majority of riders looking to get to Manhattan. and unfortunately even with CBTC there just isn’t the space for that. When the 2nd Avenue line get build I feel as if they should a direct queens line connecting to it the queens blvd and Astoria line doesn’t have enough capacity. Queens is in dire need of better subway service The only way to make a meaningful and substantial improvement to congestion in Queens is more subways. MTA needs to seriously look at new capacity in a bigger way then it has for the last 30 years. A line that would definitely take some pressure off the 7 train would be a new northern blvd line. Northern Blvd is wide enough for a 4 track subway but I believe 3 tracks would do just as good as well and would greatly reduce subway congestion at Jackson Heights for both the IND Queens Blvd Line and the IRT Flushing Line 7 train. The Manhattan i name it either H train or K train 2nd Avenue Express. I’m proposing to connect it to the Rockway Branch line. It conclusion this line would feature an extended crosstown G train and a new 2nd Avenue line I like the K train name but H train would be more symbolic to rockway riders.
