  1. Packed trains has been a problem on the for quite some time, you’ll see people waiting for another train at 74th Street because the trains are fully packed, 11 Car set R188’s doesn’t solve the problem at all, unless the MTA had the idea of building a new northern Blvd subway line, to ease crowds on the , majority of subway lines have this problem, and they don’t have an extra pair set, the idea of the 11 Car set was for the worlds fair only, I could be wrong tho
  2. Will the MTA ever convert the Flushing line fleet back into a 10 Car set? I feel like a 11 car set is useless, it would save money during future fleet orders, the MTA could’ve saved money during the R188 order, a C car order would’ve been avoided, they could’ve just ordered regular 10 car sets of R188’s, Maybe the MTA could conduct a Pilot 10 car set run on the for a week
  3. Any OMNY machine updates? I heard they would be installed somewhere around September of this year
  4. I’m pretty sure the bigger issue is graffiti, which is what makes the trains look so dirty in the first place, you could see hints of spray paint on the R160 M trains, and on the R143 L trains, i can’t believe that a security system doesn’t exist on the yards smh
  5. No, the project is expected to be completed in spring of 2025, which is just 3 years from now, they’re not just replacing the escalators, the crews will do repairs on the drainage system, new lighting, and architectural finishes
  6. Not really, if the problem is taking place on the MNR and LIRR, it doesn’t affect the subways, we may get full implementation but OMNY won’t be fully implemented as a whole
  7. I wonder if the will ever get its TOMC special rides back, it’s so unfair how the is excluded out from these events because of CBTC
  8. Yeah, I kinda agree with the rating, sometimes it be pretty chill, and sometimes they’ll be some sort of people that just look sketchy walking around back and forth for no reason, and at late night, the is a spot to get robbed, especially in the areas of Jackson heights and Corona, 11 PM and beyond the will be empty and expect to get mugged
  9. I define subway lines based on how safe it is, like the for me is the safest subway line, it’s always chill, the is a dangerous subway line for me, it gives me anxiety just to ride both lines, the is basically a nightmare subway line, and the is just the subway line to take when going to Coney Island
  10. Yes it does, it’s doing a 30 day test run, so the weekends obviously count for the time period
  11. It’s New York City what did you expect 😆 there was rumors in TikTok about a homeless guy who broke one of the digital ad screens with a hammer, I’m not sure if this is true, can anyone verify this?
  12. https://new.mta.info/project/flushing-line More information here
  13. I’m not sure why the MTA decided to do this, but I could possibly be that the crews will make structural repairs on the express track, the project includes track component repairs so I believe it could possibly be that, it’ll affect express from running in the middle track, it is subject to change, as schedules are still being planned to satisfy riders
  14. It looks like we’re going to have some service changes coming to the soon, Station renewals coming to 82 St and 111 St, construction expected May 2023, as well as the other stations, Woodside 61 Street Renewal in June 2023, 52 st and 69 st in 2024, and lastly 103 st Corona plaza in 2025, eventually the express service will be affected, it’ll only run from Main St to 74 St during days of renovations at 61 Street
  15. So the MTA can’t inform to the public about it because of some cringey lil kids that want to act up on the subway??? There should be laws implemented to limit foam activity
  16. It would’ve made sense if they ran it during the start of AM rush hour, so it would have a full day service, I doubt this event will even happen, there is no official announcement from the MTA
  17. 2 years of testing was enough time let’s all agree on that, unless they want to spend another year testing the same things all over again, it’s not like an accident will happen if it were to enter service today or next month
  18. It was obvious that it wouldn’t start today, there would’ve been some sort of announcement 3 days before it enters service
  19. i got used to seeing the R211 without an American flag, also the area were the flag is being placed looks unusual from the rest of NTT’s they’re usually placed near the destination signs, this one is like a replica of the R46’s
  20. They had like 2 years to do that, I think it was enough time, the R211’s are ready for passenger service
  21. Dang, this does ruin the news to actual riders
  22. If that were true, why hasn’t the MTA posted anything about its first revenue service, pretty sure they’ll notify the public about it, especially for railfans
  23. Nah why did they do that, it looked better without it
  24. I do agree with your plan, in this case during future renovations on the they could add an elevator at 52nd 69th and 103rd streets, 90th street wasn’t chosen for renewal work for some reason, but it would’ve been a great place to add an elevator
