  1. Oh wow they’ll still stick with the ridiculous huge open mezzanine, this is why the project is so expensive, what’s the point of such big space
  2. The public wants safety, that’s why nobody pays the fare, the MTA is going backwards, there is no change at all, safety is a top priority, MTA has to do a better job to protect its riders, I can’t go way beyond to explain this
  3. It’s for safety purposes, we need more cops at every station, or at least at stations were crime usually Happens
  4. It makes sense since the has a few R179’s, they don’t need to quickly replace the R46’s yet
  5. Westchester square on the was going to receive ESI at one point until the MTA scrapped the idea
  6. It also displays “Exp 74 St- Main st” for the express
  7. Let’s see if problems with this service pattern occurs tomorrow, I feel like this will be another Queensboro plaza situation, where the local and express trains stop at the same platform, they should entirely remove the express for this project, especially since the local will skip 82 street until October, riders at Junction blvd will just have 2 stops to go to 74 Street for the on a side note, I see why the MTA will want to offer express service, to avoid overcrowding at junction Blvd
  8. the big huge space isn’t necessary, the MTA just wants to make its new stations look “modern”
  9. Lmao it’ll take 3 years to upgrade the Q70 and 5 years to build its lane, that’s ridiculous, at least it’s enough time for the MTA to include elevators at ditmars blvd in its capital program, probably on the 2025-2029 capital program
  10. If y’all haven’t noticed yet, the MTA released a page called “Outreach for Phase 2 of the Second Avenue Subway Project” if I’m correct, they’re bidding for a contractor for design build services, hopefully the project could start anytime this year or next year, this is a big step forward
  11. There is no reason to walk between cars when the train is in motion
  12. Why not build detectors on each subway car, so when anyone open the emergency doors, the train will halt, and the conductor or TO will investigate the situation, that’ll put fear in those kids
  13. The is running express because of electrical improvements, not sure why the Manhattan bound platforms will be closed, it’s probably part of the station ReNEWation program I don’t know
  14. There was a plan to add turnstiles on all stations back in 2010, the MTA didn’t stick with the plan for much longer, possibly community opposition
  15. The MTA will focus on high capacity subway lines first, before turning forward to the shuttle, who knows if the R211’s will end up on the
  16. So you’re saying the R211’s should replace the R68/A’s from the and place them on the so they replace the R46’s? Replacing old with old doesn’t make sense to me, I doubt regular passengers will notice the differences from the 46’s to the 68’s
  17. So what happens now that the 30 day test is over? Are they going to put the production sets in service?
  18. Other subway lines are crowded too, I don’t see why the should run 11 cars, the platforms don’t need to be removed, they could stay there, but a 10 car would save money when ordering future fleets, I don’t get the confusion here, it’s simple, the 11 car set was designed for the worlds fair only, but the IRT if it existed at the time, decided to leave it as a permanent feature
  19. Nah I think the should just run as a 10 car set to avoid these type of problems, especially since NTT’s aren’t capable to do this random number input like the R62A’s, doesn’t matter if the community disagrees, it’s a way to save money like I said in the past in another thread post, every other subway line has crowding issues as well, but the MTA doesn’t add extra cars for it, so why the ?
  20. I’ve seen a few pipe tubes coming out from elevated 7 train stations and going underground, not sure if they’re a sort of drainage system coming from a nearby restroom since every station has these secret doors everywhere, so I possibly thought maybe it’s a restroom area for the booth agent or any employee working at the station to use, or maybe an electrical room where the power comes from
  21. Dang 😂 Now I’ll forever wonder if a train operator actually stopped the train for a red signal or just took a small break to relieve themselves in the tunnel
  22. I know my question may sound ridiculous, but by curiosity, do all stations have a bathroom for employees to use? I doubt the employees will hold it for like a 7 hour shift or more
  23. We’ll see soon enough, hopefully the MTA doesn’t find any “propulsion issues” that takes about a month to repair apparently
