  2. Your second question is very logical. As for the first I'm not a switch expert, or a signal maintainer.
  3. I don't think it's a matter of the lying. It's just a matter of how serious the switch/signal problems are. Plus, it's not a matter of where such a problem occurs. They should be truthful in every case, even if it's on the Rockaway Line. Also, it couldn't have been something else, as something more serious, i.e. a derailment, even a minor one, takes far more than an hour to fix.

  14. Due to a stalled train at Atlantic Ave, there are delays in Downtown trains, with some trains terminating at Bowling Green. In Brooklyn, Utica Ave-bound. and Flatbush Ave/Brooklyn College-bound trains are running via the local track between Atlantic Ave & Franklin Ave. Because of this, there are delays on and service in Brooklyn. Please plan ahead and monitor Service Status for updates. We apologize for the inconvenience.
  15. Due to a water main break on Northern Blvd at 40 Road, there is no train service train service from the Astoria Ditmars Blvd Station to the Queensboro Plaza Station at this time. Please expect delays on the and trains at this time.
  16. I have a question which I think is interesting: when construction on the SAS is finished, will the continue to offer as much service on the Lex? I mean will the continue to run the trains at capacity like they do now?
  17. I don't understand what your saying. The service status box works for me.
  18. The thing I'd like to add, is that the only ones who aren't benefitting from the situation are the riders who have to ride the old cars. It's not that the cars are terrible. It's just that the order should go through. Bombardier was the cheapest and the breach of trust issue has been resolved from what I have understood. Now, if the had decided that ALKSAW would have benefitted them financially in the long term, then good for them, but they didn't. They don't have to change the way they do their business just to benefit a joint venture that has already won a gigantic order from them. The could also make sure that the R179s share a few parts with the R142s, since they're built by the same manufacturer. I know they're in different divisions, but they can still do it. P.S. From a raifan's perspective the R179s should be built by Bombardier to add diversity to the system, but that's least of my concerns. The main thing is that the order should move as soon as possible.
  19. They're actually claiming both, but what I said is what they claimed in the public hearing.
