  1. What ALKSAW is actually claiming, from what I understand is that, while ordering cars from them may have cost the more money than buying them from Bombardier, they would have saved money in the long term by sharing parts between the R179s and the sheer amount of R160s already in the system, as the 2 types wouldn't be so different. I watched the youtube video where the representative of ALKSAW complained to the board during a public hearing, but the CEO said that "the concerns of ALSAW had already been dealt with in a letter sent to them". The point is that, while this issue is debated the R32s and R42s are getting older by the day. It's not that I want them gone, but we should be realistic, the have to go.. That's why my opinion is this needs to be dealt with quickly.
  2. And how exactly will this "protest" be resolved? Please tell me they won't head to court...
  3. Where was it said that the R179s will have a lifespan of 19 years? I can't even find it anywhere.
  4. There was a power outage at Jay-Metrotech if I recall correctly.
  5. There's a recurring rail condition at 59th Street - Columbus circle forcing trains to run express from Times Square to 72nd Street. UPDATE: Fixed.
  6. Yeah. It's fixed now but it there's a police investigation at 103rd Street-Corona Plaza on the that's been going on for quite a while.. Actually, it stopped for a bit and then it started again.
  7. It should say "Due to track maintenance at the E 180th Street Station, please expect delays in both directions on the and train service at this time".
  8. Was there an issue with the uptown 6 yesterday during the p.m. rush? The headways seemed relatively long..
  9. On the IRT Broadway - Seventh Avenue line beginning April 9th..
  10. (Out of topic: we're 7 hours ahead, but for this and the next week we're 6 hours ahead and Italy is 5 hours ahead, as we haven't switched to Daylight Saving Time. We'll switch March 25th, by which time I'll be in NYC..) Back on topic: let's hope for the best..

  11. Let's see what happens tomorrow.. It's night here, so I'll check as soon as I wake up in the morning. Hope they fix it...

  12. So, what's going to happen with the forum?

  13. Actually, she didn't. I agree that the media usually couldn't care less about correctly reporting transit service changes, but what she actually said was that "FASTRACK has been implemented already on the 6th, 7th and Lexington Avenue lines".
  14. From Subways from midtown north will shut down during overnight hours next year for repairs - NY Daily News
  15. Can anyone confirm that 80 R142As have been transferred from the to the ?
  16. None of the R142As from the have been transferred to the . That wouldn't make any sense. So far only 7211-7220 have only been converted into R188s. Nothing else has happened.
  17. Probably he was referring to this as there wasn't such an advisory about construction. About this: Man Hit by Train at 72nd Street and Broadway - DNAinfo.com (it has been cleared as of now)
  18. Two corrections: not all of the (6)'s R142A's will be converted, so not all of them will be moved to the . The has about 450 R142As, not just 370.
  19. Now: Due to mechanical problems at the Prospect Park Station, Uptown trains are running on the line between the Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue Station and the Dekalb Avenue Station. Please expect delays in service on trains at this time.
