  1. 6112 and 6095 do not have the capacity required to run the route without incurring long boarding times. Also, the D-9 won't run the 2nd Avenue-Queens Plaza route because door controls won't trainline. Doesn't mean that they won't make an appearance however.. You seem to have missed the point that 2nd Avenue can handle both the Holiday Train and extra F service
  2. They'll be fine. In fact, they'll be better than ever. Track capacity will not be saturated. What a helpful, thoughtful response.
  3. This will not affect the Holiday Train. A few years ago, the C train terminated at Second Avenue while the Holiday train was running and everything worked out fine. This is completely asinine. While there is some shopping in Lower Manhattan, the great majority of shopping and attractions during the Holiday Season is in midtown. As far as operations planning is concerned, the Vintage Train will just serve as one of the additional sets running out of 2nd Avenue. You know, just saying "no" without any reasoning and facts to back it up doesn't endow your argument with any more validity than the one of the person you are responding to.
  4. Uh, no. Every single car contract going back to before the R32s has stated that no parts from a rejected car are to be reused on another car.
  5. That is not true. There have been R160s that ran in service signed up as a B after that.
  6. First weekend home game, and look what's running? It'll be a fun time.
  7. It will not run on Weekdays. That's final. No change in the time of the game will change that.
  8. it doesn't matter. 7 line service on Columbus Day is a weekday schedule. It will not run.
  9. Monday is a weekday schedule, even though its Colombus day. Also, its the Top of the 9th for the first Mets vs. Dodgers game, and the Mets are winning 3-0. Lets hope they can beat out the Dodgers.
  10. not necessarily. Weekday runs aren't doable due to service density. Hope that the mets beat the Dodgers so they have a chance at a weekend home game.
  11. The R68s on the shuttle were just not unitized when the rest of the fleet was being linked together.
  12. things like that aren't always by accident. Sometimes a problem can cause this to happen. Example:
  13. just because you haven't seen it, doesn't mean it doesn't exist http://web.mta.info/mta/budget/july2015.html
  14. For those who will be chasing the low v's. 8:30 Leave East 180 10:00 Arrive GCS track 1 11:00 Leave GCS track 1, head south and loop around at City Hall and head to Pelham Bay, arrive around 12:30. Buses will run on a continuous loop between Orchard Beach and City Island from 12:45pm to 3:15pm. 4pm: Depart Pelham Bay, head south to City Hall and Loop around to GCT 4/5/6, the last stop. Continue Not in service to E180. I'll be staff on this trip. I hope to see you all there. Also, I encourage you all to DONATE to the museum so these cars can continue to be maintained and restored
  15. The train runs in CBTC bypass mode. Plenty of CBTC equipped R160s already are run in this mode on the and lines.
  16. Yes the would help. It is impossible to increase service past its current level, and current service is known to not be enough for Astoria.
