  1. Canon shoulda added IS to the primes without USM and dropped the price a bit.
  2. only the 50mm is like that, as you get wider or more zoomed in its more expensive to make teh aperature that big.
  3. Omg soooo want the 24mm one but its mad expensive, its $850 or so and Canon renews full-frame lenses with 24-70mm F2.8 II and stabilized wide-angle primes: Digital Photography Review Heres to hoping those two go down in price sometime. Personally they shoulda kept em in the $400-500 range
  4. Even if they did set it up so it could go north into the Bronx, chances are it wont be till 2112 till such an extension even opens
  5. Another question, does this mean the entire trainset is considered an R188? Since I noticed on the operators panel it says R188 instead of R142A. Also to anyone whos been inside the new train, does it have the strip map?
  6. but is the MTA willing to spend the cost upfront to join the remaining single units? As for the , I doubt they can extend the station at Times Square, that whole area seems like stuck the way it is, closing the during the daytime for such a major project will make the completely overloaded. Those Shuttle trains are full even on Sunday when I do most of my railfanning. I can imagine they must be like sardine cans during rush hour.
  7. I cant see the MTA at this point converting them into proper 5 car sets, that costs money and the MTA is trying to do what they can to save money.
  8. probably theyll keep em as singles but just give em the full width cabs every 5th train like they did with the single sets on the
  9. Now is the time to get as many photos as you can of the R142A and R62A before the car swaps start happening towards the end of this year. While the is likely to have some R142As left, probably about 5 since the needs more trains than the , the line is not gunna be the same. Its the same thing with the M2s on the New Haven line, nows the time to save up and go out to the stops east of Stamford and actually ride em, not just to Fordham or 125 Street.
  10. I agree, the always has this dingy look to it when compared to the . The used to be bad when the 44s were on it, but the 46s at least look in better shape. Those 32s were past their prime 10 years ago, most of em have peeling paint inside, scratchiti everywhere, and feature the systems highest breakdown rates, the PA systems are often crackily and hard to hear, and the conductors have to dangerously walk between the cars to get to the buttons on the other side of the train. Its too bad they cant fast track the R179s and get em in service already.
  11. hey gorgor, do you have a map of where the Queens Express Bus routes depart to head back to queens? I saw only one of where they end up in Manhattan

  12. the LIRR Hollis and Boland's Landing stations have wooden platforms.
  13. its a known fact the Franklin was the worst one out of all of em hehe
  14. as of when? I was on the on the 4th, on the R42 set, saw another set at 111 St parked there, and saw 3 other sets laying up in East New York yard.
  15. I never had fond memories of the R44s either, they were always dimly lit and the floor would rattle and squeal
  16. and now here is the R42, the photo is mine this time, took it at Chambers St.
  17. I did and they still thought it was real, then proceeded to have a huge flame war over the authenticity of the photo.
  18. sure, I actually have a photo of my own of an R42 interior to use for it this time hehe
  19. it wasnt made to fool anyone, I was bored this afternoon so I wanted to see what a 32 interior would look like, came across the first 32 interior shot i could find becasue i never took one, couldnt remember who it was, even said whoever this photo was let me know so I could credit them. I didnt expect this thing to be as controversial as it has become on both here and the facebook group. to NYtransit, I appologize for using your photo, I couldnt remember who took it so I couldnt ask in advanced. Now that I know if you look on the original post, I have given you credit.
  20. gladly, I couldn't remember who's it was, I was waiting for whoever took it to tell me who it was. It was a great photo. If you want the photomanip taken down, I will do that for you as well
  21. oh and to whoever reposted that on facebook, woulda been nice if you had given me credit.
