County probably doesn't have the money for it. The County doesn't have that much money, which is why the cut the routes last year, and only brought 30 New Flyers as the base order. The ARBOC/Unknown Model came from some short of State program, not exactly sure if Suffolk had to put in money for that. Besides they were brought in part with Federal Money which states I believe that buses can be retired after either 12 years or 500,000 miles. The route that they worked (S92) is pretty long Wouldn't be surprised if they have over 500,000 miles. (One of the 2005 Gilligs that were retired from the S92 had 999,999 Miles on it.)

Yes the Base order of 30 buses have come in and are in service. 2010 Orion 07.501 1012-1013 had a high amount of miles on them from working nearly every day on the S92. 2010 Orion 07.502 1034,1054 caught fire and were destroyed.

To me from the way the article was written, Cuomo did this to himself by declaring a state of emergency for the MTA an promising $1 Billion dollars without explaining where such money would be coming from. Probably didn't wrap it because the buses will probably end up with ad warps soon anyway. Something tells me a wrap on a wrap wouldn't work so well.

Yeah but it's probably better then a plain white roof. Not to mention probably cheaper. Remember after having to ax 10 routes, even though they had low ridership and there fore expensive to operate, they can't go about ordering buses with new expensive paint schemes. It will have people asking 'why didn't you just order buses with an less expensive paint scheme and keep any left over money to fund some service on the routes that were cut?' They could defend themselves on buying buses by saying that the money for the base order, of 30 buses, was put away before the money crunching or that buy saving the money on operations that they had enough to buy the buses. Also they could say they got help from the State or Federal Government to help offset the cost of the new buses.

They look neat. Gee #7017 has been busy. It was spotted early last week or the week before on the S41.

I remember back when NICE was formed people said the MTA had the power to take back the Orion V's, and Orion VII's because they had brought them and therefore owned them. (Ownership of those buses was a big debate if I recall) It was said, either at that time or the last time the topic was brought up, that the MTA DID NOT have the power to take back the buses because they were brought with some type of funding that said they had to be used in Nassau County. (I mean one would think if the MTA had the power to reposes the Orion V's and Orion VII's they would have taken them with them when they left)

According to Hound on BusChat (I don't remember if he is a member here) the MTA is planning on using the RVC Depot for the 200 buses as part of their plan to limit the impact on the LIRR ridership because of Amtraks work at Penn Station. Not sure if its the truth or if that is what Powerli was talking about.

Not much that I'm aware of. I know there is one on Instagram of #7015 at a gas station in NJ I believe. Also heard there were photos of #7023 and &027 on Facebook though I haven't been able to find them. There is a few in a video someone too at SBC's Ronkonkoma Yard on Youtube.

As of 6/9/17 5021 is OOS due to a accident in Patchouge on 3/20/17 while on the S54 5076 is OOS after being involved in an accident 7/20/15 - Possibly Retired? Para Transit bus 2807 is OOS with Extensive front end damage. 1010 is OOS due to an accident 9/30/15 5058 OOS due to an accident on the LIE on 9/27/16 - Possibly Retired? I don't know if Suffolk is deciding to do anything, Though I don't know they were considering about picking up the Sunrise Mall to Babylon portion of the n19 until they announced it so who knows. As for the SCT change card, I heard form someone who has used it, that you have to dip it, so I assume it has to be inserted into the slot which generates it just like how their transfers work.

Yeah, they were installed not that long ago. I personally haven't seen them yet.

My guess would be that at the time it was made (My guess before it was announced the other routes would be cut), the n19 didn't cross into Suffolk so they decided not to included. Either that or since it was cut from going to Babylon and Suffolk picked up the Babyon to Sunrise Mall portion of the n19, whoever created the bus map assumed that the n19 had been completely cut. Again though that's just my guess.
