  4. Paul P

see how fast your wish became true?!

  5. Oh well, sorry, I didn't see you posted before. But let me know if you have more problems, here or via PM.
  6. The thing with a lot of point and shoot cameras is that you can't customize setting. I'm not familiar with the one you have, but the factors causing blurry pictures are: shutter speeds and exposure in the most part. Can you manually change those?
  7. Oh well really depends on what kind you have. Mind sharing?
  8. True, I work with what I have right now, and am not interested, nor do I have the money to buy a good lens. In the future, definitely yes. I think I'll have some more questions in the next few days, so I'll ask here.
  9. Well yes, apparent is more precise. That's why I attempted to put actual into quotation marks. Thanks for the explanation sir, much respect. At least now I know what to consider when looking for a wider variety of lenses.
  10. So considering this factor, the "actual" focal length on my camera with the 18-55mm lens I have is 27-82.5mm?
  11. OK, first off thanks for the response. I realize you have some experience in this topic. So far I understand everything you wrote out really clearly. So the "crop sensor" in my T1i is the factor determining the field of view in the picture. So when buying a lens with a given focal length for a 35mm camera, how would I calculate the "actual" focal length for the pictures if one has the "crop sensor"? By that I mean if my T1i currently has a 18-55mm lens, what is the corresponding range of focal lengths considering the smaller sensor?
  12. I feel this is the proper place to ask this question, anyone who can explain in detail please answer this one for me or link me to some info. As I'm still learning about my own DSLR, and the lens variety, I came across researching different types of lenses. The question is about the focal lengths of the camera and the lenses for 35mm cameras. I know the angle of view depends on the ratio between the focal length and the film size (which for me is 35mm), but let's say for example I want to get a 10-22mm wide-angle lens... How would I know what the actual range of focal lengths will be when I mount it on my camera? Would the result be different from 10-22mm? I feel kind of uneducated about this. Thanks in advance for explaining.
  13. This particular one, that I haven't posted anywhere yet. It shows perfectly how 2 things are very much special to me. Of course the city background, and the LI locos. I feel that the railroad is much more important to me, rather than city transit. Of course it's only my preference. N'joy!
  14. nope... no time.

  15. Paul P

nope, I just came back from NY to my home.

  16. Paul P

I agree, though, where I live trains are a rare sighting.

  17. Paul P

  18. that's alright... it freaked me out lol

  19. is it just me or your quote in my thread is wrong it says Mark wrote what you quoted, when it was really me?! just a question... or you probably edited it?

  20. Happy 29th birthday Andy, and thanks for the invite! :)

  21. You're welcome! I'm Paul btw.. I think you noticed I like to call people by their name, the user name doesn't mean nothing to me! lol

  22. Happy Birthday! (sorry I forgot your name lol) I wish you many more to come! :)

  23. Well if you had that only bus photo, I would most likely create another folder with the trip's date on it, so in the future it will be easier to search for it, even though it's just one picture in the folder, it's a lot easier than to hassle around and trying to find something specific like this. If you have made a lot of trips for a lot of folders, you'll start to see it really works. Now for example if you mix both of the divisions together (ex: IRT and BMT/IND) you should still create separate folders for those pics in your PC, but make only one thread in the General Subway section and put them all in there. Just a word of advice!
  24. What works very well for me is to organize the folders like this respectively: IRT ---> folder w/ date the pics were taken BMT/IND ---> folder w/ date the pics were taken Same goes for buses, railroads etc... This method keeps the folders quite organized, and it's very simple. It also works if you want to upload them to this forum, because it's divided just like the folders and you wouldn't have to keep searching for a specific picture! Let me know what you think!
