  1. Scofflaw patrol? Are you kidding me I thought that was a joke at first when I saw the truck. I wonder who was fortunate enough to get that contract and the $166 boot fee. When I forst saw mocker, I liked him, yea standing up against the ridiculous crap. & more importantly questioning it and not just accepting the answers we are force fed. But now he just seems to pick petty shit arguments or "points" just to get people to watch. "People are already complaining that service will be cut, or adjusted..." Really Mocker? Maybe a private company is supposed to foot the bill to keep service as it is, that the County, State, or Federal governments will not pay for! How about informing the "upset" public that they are still better off than the "skeleton system" the wanted to run for more money! This is Journalism!?! Mocker could have asked any question BUT instead asked an objective question (not even on topic) to stir the pot and hope to get "upset" viewers to tune in!
  2. I'm just happy to see it! Is that bus outa RVC or MF? I wish the V's weren't being retired if live to see this scheme on one of them?
  3. You complained that this was off topic, after I said I was not at home and it was harder for me to reply to quote ur threads and paste them in the on topic thread, you continue to post in this thread. I posted my reply in the bus ownership thread so we can keep this thread on topic you'll find my reply there.
  4. Fighting? Who's fighting? Also I don't feel against anyone else, that's funny if you think so. I don't feel a subject should be dropped because others dont agree, what a boring world with no information that would be. I'm not on one side or the other, I'm on the I'd like to know side. I simply sent an email to Jack Khzouz asking about bus ownership because there was so much debate but no clear answer. I got what was a clear answer, but that's not the end of it people say the still owns the buses. Ok, so I sent another email and got a pretty clear answer (posted in the "Bus Ownership" thread) "the MTA has no stake" in buses or property. One could be a devils advocate and say that's wrong because the MTA owns the buses. I could care less who owns the buses I just provided information, if others feel so strongly that info I was provided was wrong, please provide your information for the forum. Or email Jack Khzouz and tell him his information is wrong, I'd love to see the reply posted here. Again I'm not on any side, against anyone, or fighting with anyone because they have an opinion, but I'm not just going to drop a subject because others disagree. I hope that's not what is expected in this forum.
  5. If you read my post you would have seen I said I'm not at home and only have my phone to respond. I woulda quoted these and posted them in the other thread but that would take a lot of time on my phone that I don't really have. Like I said, I hope will move all of the off topic posts. ...and as far as you answering my questions, you still haven't answered how if their is a lease how the could take the buses back on a whim if Veolia didn't break any of the terms of the lease? Also, you haven't posted any proof of how the buses are owned, I posted the email, Kack (I forget his last. and off hand) sent me saying the buses are owned by the county. Thanks
  6. lol I was kidding about the flaw, IMO the plain stripe is a flaw on the buses. But yea the is not flawed. ok...
  7. If Veolia hasn't violated any terms of the lease how in the world do you think the can just take back the buses on a whim? Also I know some people have been told by reliable people with the about the lease? Can you provide more details? I posted the email Veolia sent me about Nassau owning the buses/property...
  8. Exactly, the funds were for buses to be used in Nassau County, not for the to use in Long Island. BIG difference. Funding was given for buses to be used in Nassau County, not to expand the fleet. I was gonna quote these posts and post them in the "bus ownership" thread but I'm outa town for a few days, didn't bring my laptop so I only have my phone. Maybe a mod will move all of these posts into another thread.
  9. Actually it looks Veolia covered up the epic fail that is the livery...lol
  10. If these buses were leased there has to be doccuments, and the MTA is a public agency, so who/where would I have to send a FOIL request to get the documents associated with the lease?
  11. Really? Beside the fact these buses were bought with the funds knowing the buses were to be used in Nassau County... If Veolia entered into contract to lease these buses to Veolia (or Nassau County, whatever the aragement is) how could the just say screw it, and take back the buses unless Nassau/Veolia violated part of the contract?
  12. Right, and according to other sources since the grants were used to buy buses to be used in Nassau County, as far as the government is concerned these buses are to be used in Nassau County. SO, if the buses are assumed to be used in the Nassau County throughout their lifetime, what's the problem with painting them? If I leased a white bus, I'd have every right to paint it as long as I returned it it's original white color when I turned the bus back back in to the owner. If these buses are assumed to be used in Nassau County for their lifetime, Nassau/Veolia would never have to restore the bus to it's orginal condition, because the bus would stay where it is for the remainder of it's lifetime. No?
  13. I don't think Veolia cares about pleasing the MTA, I think that ship has sailed when Veolia took over the contract. LOL:cool:
  14. While not trying to get back on this topic, I do have a question tat spawns off it. Jack Khzouz has said the buses and properties are owned by Nassau County. He has been very informative to all of us here so I think he would need to lie or mislead anyone,IO also don't believe he would be mistaken about a subject this big, or at least find out before answering. Maybe someone can email him and ask specifically. truthfully I don't care anymore I thought I was helping when I emailed him and emailed me back a clear answer. Anyway, for the sake of argument let's say the owns them... Is it assumed they are to be used the rest life in Nassau County? If so what's the problem with painting them?
  15. Macarthur Airport is also trying to get Jetblue to make a hub there, I don't know what the status of that is.....BUT what about Express airport service form certain LIRR stations to Macarthur airport (closed door in Suffolk)?
  16. I can see JFK, LIRR to the airtrain is simple and affordable. It would be nice to have a bus going to the terminals instead of having to walk from the airtrain, also during peak hours it sucks having to get on the LIRR when it is packed carry around all of your luggage. I try to avoid LGA because I have to take supershuttle, and it costs about $50 plus tips, cabs are a lot more money. You can't say supershuttle is faster than a bus because the last time I took Supershuttle to LGA they picked me up (like a half hour early so I had to rush around bc I wasn't ready yet), drove me all the way to commack, picked up some guy and then drove us to LGA. Not to mention I was dropped off an hour and 45 minutes before a 6(something) flight so there a lot of sitting around. Sure people splurge when they are going on vacation, but in this economy don't you think people would want to save the extra $50 to $100 bucks and spend it something on their vacation? There are also a lot of people on LI who travel for work/business... I think there could be a good market for express bus service from certain LIRR stations to LGA with comfoprtable seats and a place to store bags under the coach (or on racks in the bus like parking lot shuttles) if there was a good ad campaign making people aware of the service.
  17. How about express airport service from Nassau County to JFK & LGA?
  18. This thread will be HUGE with photos soon! I propose we have a sub section in the photos section for this. Click on the sub section and members will see a thread for each bus number, members can post pictures of the buses with the new livery in that buses thread. What does everyone think?
  19. You do realize this isn't going to be run on 2 million right? The original budget was 102 million. There is a budget shortfall of 7.3 million, that still leaves 94.7 million!
  20. I keep on hearing that LIB would have been alright if Nassau paid their fair share? What's the fair share of a bloated budget? Yea Nassau is going to have to pay, maybe not what it likes, (and they might not even have the money to pay what the system needs to run as it has, times are tough, all over the world. But is Nassau paying the what they feel is fair to operate a skeleton system on a bloated budget really fair to the county, the riders, or the tax payers?
  21. LMAO! He will probably support the fact that a fare to the mall should be $9 + tip. lol
  22. Did EBT hire inter county drivers? (If hired) did the drivers who came over from Inter County retain their runs or are these EBT on these runs?
