Few years? We're only behind 1 exam (7105) and they're almost done with it, probably at the end of this year/early next year they'll start calling off this list.

That’s what I was thinking, but the person who picked up the phone said “a few years”.

Not for this exam. The only way you can do this is by calling the HR office (347-643-8229/30/31/32) on a regular basis.

    Sorry...

Call 347-643-8230. They answer quicker than the other numbers, at least from my experience.

As far as our list numbers, they haven’t called anyone yet and most likely won’t for a few years according to what I was told. So, if you guys have not already obtained them, get your drivers license and/or CDL.

There probably is more and I haven't noticed unless it's really just those two. I'll just have to be on the lookout then.

There are more two as I rode the 25 on Friday and spotted many notices about stops being eliminated.

Needs more stops to be eliminated. At least a good stretch from S 18th until Irvine Turner, too many stops on back to back blocks.

They need to do the same for the 13. There’s a stop almost every block where I use the line.

On another note, the service increase on the 107 is definitely welcomed.

Any chance we see any of these on the BMT Broadway lines? Maybe after the R211 comes over?

Unless it’s extreme emergencies or GOs, most likely not. It wouldn’t make sense as the majority of them run 8-car trains.

I moved to NJ in April. Came from Newark Airport.

I’d say it’s about 35~40 minutes. I live on the 13T branch, but the 13V is only two stops from my home stop. On the weekends, I notice that buses tend to bunch, and this is with 15-20 intervals...

Fixed as it was too late to edit.

How much of a drag is your normal commuting time?

The #13 is a route that appears like crazy when I don't need it... When I wish to ride it however, the branch I want takes eons to show up...

  8. Just so we’re all on the same page, these are the current two-letter depot codes:

Bronx Division: EC, GH, KB, WF, YO

Brooklyn Division: EN, FB, FP, GA, JG, UP

Manhattan Division: MV, MQ, OF, TU

Queens Division: BP, CS, CP, JA, JK, FR, LG, QV, SC

Staten Island Division: CA, CH, MA, YU

Most of you know these already, but some don’t and it’ll be easier using these when updating rosters.

  9. Many people assume I’m either married or with someone as I’ve received the following from different people:

”It’s a good thing you and your girl moved here.”

”Maybe you and your wife will love this bed.”

    ”How’s the girlfriend?”

I don’t know where everyone gets all that from, but I’ve repeatedly stated that I’m single and not looking for anything with anyone.

I was on a detoured S48 today and the B/O was playing pick and choose when it came to picking people up along Castleton. It seemed like he would only pick up if the bus was stopped at a red light or if someone wanted to get off. I got on at Heberton but I assume that was because the bus was stopped at a red traffic light. Got me to the ferry in 20 minutes from Port Richmond but that was mainly because he made around 5-7 stops before the ferry.

The B/O could have been instructed by dispatch to do drop-off only as he might have been running late. I’ve experienced this before.

    ALTERNATIVE SERVICE
    May 25 - 27, Sat to Mon, 12:01 AM to 6 AM
    (S) 42 Street Shuttle service runs overnight

Could there be a possible (7) train G.O this weekend? Is not up on the website.

It’s likely due to the (2)(5) switch in The Bronx that weekend.

These trains will destroy your ears when they dump. Be sure to cover your ears when they pull into terminals!! I feel terrible every time I dump these trains with people on the platforms, especially children. I do try and warn people though but all I get are confused looks. I really wished the MTA would post warning signs at terminal stations to let people know about the danger of 179s dumping. They're really f**king loud.

I heard that the MTA isn't allowed to modify these cars until the Bombardier manufacturer's warranty expires or something like that. I think the 160s were also really loud until the MTA retrofitted them with mufflers.

I learned that the hard way waiting at Parsons Blvd when one showed up on the (J)

    Any updates?

Just received mine today. I passed! My list number is 1xx.

Question to all : Since I just moved from NY to NJ last month and have a new driver’s license, should I bring my old NYS license?  I’m asking as it the old one does not expire until this December.
