@Union Tpke, do you know if there are any updated timetables for every line in the system (including the current overnight & weekend one)? I've found the somewhere around this site or some other site, but then I honestly forget where now. Also, did the went through with the service reductions as of this month?
Please and thanks.
They should be up this upcoming weekend.

Extra service was added to the S40 last week; will be expanded next week. Bike racks were added to 5 locals (2 previous buses, 3 new), so those buses are supposed to be for the 53/93. (But we already know, how that's gonna go)
And mileage is up there for the older 8s. Highest I've seen was 165K. If that keeps up, these buses will have way more miles in another 4 years, than the 7000s have right now.
Did they release a schedule to reflect the additional service?
On another note, it’s concerning that the 8000s are only a few years old and are already racking up so many miles. I wonder if maintenance on the island has improved.

Does the mta not run artics at night anymore? I’ve been tracking a bunch of routes for the hell of it and I couldn’t help but notice how every artic route i tracked was 100% 40 footers, even the sbs routes
It’s probably due to a cold weather plan. However, there is one artic on the Q44+.

You should see the late night 107 that stops at the airport...
I would imagine that it gets just as full. Hopefully they add more service soon.

Lately, I’ve been trying a new route to get home from work. In my experiences, the 37 is almost as fast as transferring to the 13 from the GO28 or 62. The only downside is that I have to walk up Clinton Ave if I miss the 13 coming from Irvington terminal.
I usually get the last 37 of the evening which leaves EWR at 11:30 and it’s always packed to the brim. They should really add another trip or adjust the schedule.

The timetable is updated to reflect the flood protection work at CI.

Might be a staffing issue.
Perhaps they don't have enough extra people available that weekend to run the .Could be, but I doubt that since the will be running to Astoria throughout the whole weekend as opposed to just the day.

It’s due to the not running into Manhattan. I wonder why they’re using the this time around. Usually, they just run the during the daytime.

What are the current options for Soundview patrons and besides I think the Bx39 has overnight service.
It only runs overnight between Wakefield and Gun Hill Road to interlink with the Bx41.

The bottleneck was mentioned about Rogers Av:
Something, I noticed when the reach the Franklin Av station, if one train arrives and open doors first, that train enters President St first. Not in every case. There have been times where I was on a that arrived or departed Franklin first and still had to let a or pass.

I thought they made some adjustments with the mirrors with this current order or I could be wrong. Was the mirror issue with the 2015 LFS order?
Yes, it was mostly the 2015-16 order with the mirror issues, but I have yet to hear anything negative about the 2019 batch.

A friend of mine complained about them being hard on the knees (not sure if other ops feel the same way).
This is the first I’ve heard of that. The only thing I’ve heard complaints about was the mirrors.

Mainly the design of how many passengers can fit on the bus I feel that little section behind the driver should not Have that one seater but instead made it a standing section, Oh and let’s not talk about how the mirrors are poorly mounted On the bus to see your reference point...maybe it’s just me or I’m just a new flyer lover since I been driving those since I was in Atlanta
That’s most definitely you. Novas are better suited for the island as they’re built for heavy service and can take on rough streets. Outside of the mirror placement, most of the operators out in SI actually like operating them. New flyers wouldn’t last out there.

Can someone explain to me why Staten Island is the only depots with no new flyers? The novas are so bad... the guys and me were cracking jokes during the train shuttle, you know when it’s a SI bus when you see a nova
What do you find so problematic with SI’s nova fleet?

I noticed that the last time they turned the train at Burnside Avenue during a General Order, the crew was kept until Utica. Beginning with the train to Burnside, they decided to change the crew at 149th Street instead of Burnside (where I would imagine they would have begun to do so). I'm not even sure why the crew cannot simply be changed at Burnside Avenue whenever that General Order is done. The same thing began with the train this past weekend. I'm starting to wonder whether the crew was meant to go to 149th Street, because I'm not certain as to why the crew cannot simply be changed at Burnside.
Burnside most likely doesn’t have crew rooms or facilities.

As it was pointed out in a different thread, Prevost offered a cheaper contract and better delivery schedule.
