  1. Or follow what I do. Use the bathroom at GCT or any other station right before boarding if you want to avoid that smell.
  2. Welcome aboard Chip. Could not agree with what you said above.
  3. This sucks:tdown:. This means the aging (being kind)M-2's will be around until at least 2012. While delays are a 'normal part' of the process with new rail cars in the system, this now 1-year plus delay is starting to become a concern. I don't remember this much problem with the M7's which are almost the same bulit as these babys. Dumb Question. Could Metro North/CDOT get and buy any 'disel' trains from other nearby regional transit agencies such as (SEPTA) (NJT) etc. to replace a few of the M-2's that should have been retired at least couple of years ago?
  4. Better that the M-8's 'minor' problems be found now in testing than what happened in the mid/late 1970's w/ (NYCT)subways and then 'new' R44/46's fleet of cars.
  5. Maybe before i go to west coast to visit My Mom/Family for the Holidays, maybe i try to ride on the M-8's on a Saturday on the portion between Stamford and New Haven assuming they are up and running before Dec. 23.
  6. Intresting. I wonder when will the cast of the show "Jersey Shore", Paris Hilton, Lady Gaga and the Karshdians will pop up on the list as well.
  7. Of the NYC area pizza I really like that place (Famous Ray's) on i think 6th ave. and 11th St in the West Village area. It's made with 100% real cheese and $3.00 a slice for high quality pizza, not a bad deal. On the chain pizza places, my favorites is either Papa John or Pizza Hut. And finally here in Poughkeepsie area one of the most popular is a joint called "Emiliano" on 111 Main St.which is just 2 blocks from the Poughkeepsie MNRR/Amtrak station. they have specials on Sundays in which a full Large Pie is only $8.00.(toppings extra) Alot of MNRR crew and staff eat lunch/dinner there. Just my takes on pizza.
  8. And when will these trains the M8's go into regular passenger (reveune) service at all? I thought they were supposed to be in service a year ago around late 2009.
  9. I know in San Diego, fishbowl buses remained in service until about 1996-97 as well that also had LCD signs as well.
  10. A question for checkmate:confused:. Does this 'favorite tv show' 'list have to be current or all time? Honestly i don't watch much of the current shows as i watch mostly sports, news shows during prime time in the evenings as i dislike almost all of the reality shows that took over tv. Recently it was '24' "Law & Order' and "Lost' but they are now all cancelled.
  11. What i was thinking of for LIRR/MNRR "Engineers' is a caual wear uniform like the ones the Train Opeartors at Path now wear or even in San Diego on their city's "MTS Trolley" aka Light rail. What you guys think?
  12. Guys i have a general LIRR/MNRR question? Why does their Motorman/Train Engineers do not wear uniforms? (NYCT) (subway)Train Opeartors are required to wear ones so i wonder why can't LIRR/Metro North T/O's? I actually seen on a few occasion usually late nights on weekends, those Engineers only wear a crappy torn t-shirt and shorts. I am not asking them to wear a 'suit and tie' but man they should IMO be in uniform just like the Conductors on (MTA)railroads? What you guys think of a basic uniform for MNRR/LIRR Engineers?:confused:
