  1. The MTA doesn't get reimbursed when students use a student metrocard, right? In that case, honestly, MTA is losing money whether or not a kid swipes the student card. I guess it helps with accurate ridership stats, but still.
  2. I didn't see the 6:30 either. Two packed QM5s come. I get on one, go all the way to the back row (with 5 seats), and some a**wipe sitting next to the window has bags covering TWO more seats. I move one of the bags over and the guy has the nerve to tell me I should have asked him to move the bag instead. I just ignored him like he didn't exist LOL. wasn't worth the argument with a moron.
  3. Amazing work as usual!!! Great job! Really impressive to have gone from an idea for an advocacy group to a meeting with all these transportation big shots
  4. I've noticed the Eagle team that checks tickets on the Q44 by Union Tpke now has an unmarked green van they sit in instead of the marked van that basically screams "BUY YOUR TICKETS"
  5. And yet I can swipe my legitimate card 100 times in a row and still get the "swipe again" message over and over smh
  6. With all that fancy-pants tech, how did those low-lives hanging out in the stations figure out how to bend the mag strip in such a way that it gives you free rides? I thought this problem was still an ongoing issue?
  7. Back in the PBL days, the Orion Vs and some Suburban RTSs that were on CP's express routes took the Midtown tunnel every day
  8. I got an email saying there would be an extra 6 am and 7 am departure on the QM5 on President's Day
  9. Unbelievable. I left the city early on Friday before the long weekend to start my vacation early, and even at 4 pm the QM buses were running 15 mins late
  10. I guess 5/7 buses is a relative improvement lol. I caught an empty QM5 at 7:00 because it was bunched with another QM5 that was jam packed right in front of it smh
  11. That disrespect for public property starts with how you were raised as a kid at your own home
  12. Yup, I was on the 7 pm bus. Tons of traffic all day today, I don't know what was up with that. Took 20 mins extra travel time both ways
  13. Did you use the same card on any other bus/subway since this occurred? I once had the same issue with my XBus Plus Unlimited Card, and it killed the card. Had to send it back, which was a whole hassle
  14. I can't wait to hear about the meeting! As usual, no 6:30 QM1, thought the 7 pm is running on time (I saw it sitting at the terminal at 6:50. The 6:45 QM31 (which I am currently on) is running perfectly as usual. Clearly major games going on with the QM1 in particular. Also, since you've been posting about how late the QM5/6 on weekends are back to Queens, I took a look at the timetables, which I haven't done in years since I already have a mental timetable after all these years, and I burst out laughing. The times listed to get back to Queens, especially past 188th Street, are laughable. Even with no traffic, it just isn't possible now. I'm not sure they were ever really realistic. More like aspirations LOL
  15. LOL At this point it is just laughable how ridiculous it is. I'm sure tomorrow with the ice, sleet, and snow all the QM1's will roll on time (eye roll)
  16. That is so interesting, and not at all surprising. I've seen some B/Os that are a little too friendly with the dispatchers. Reminds me of a car service driver who told me he had to bribe his company's dispatcher so he was always given the profitable trips from Queens to Manhattan
  17. No, I left early today...caught the 2:15 QM5, which somehow beat the 2:05 QM6 to Main Street lol.
  18. These new lollipop signs can only handle 3 little screens instead of 4? Geez... And what about that plan to install more LinkNYC kiosks which can display bus arrivals on their big screens?? De Blasio promised hundreds more of those kiosks but never delivered
  19. About a year ago, when I sent in an email complaint about a broken countdown clock machine (which was practically brand new, by the way), MTA told me it's DOT's problem, and DOT told me it is MTA's problem. So ridiculous. Eventually, I happened to be at the stop when this unmarked van pulled up and two Hispanic guys got out and started fixing the machine. I asked them "who do you work for?" and all they said was "No English, no English" LOL
  20. I didn't see the 6:30 when I started tracking so I took a QM6 instead. Lots of traffic tonight.
  21. 8:40 QM1 was a no-show, and at least one QM5 was missing as well.
  22. Unbelievable. I'm waiting for the 10:30 QM6, hopefully that actually shows up. Already a fairly long line at the stop. Update: it did come on time, and is about half full. Not bad for nearly 11 pm on a Tuesday
  23. I forgot there was no public school today, and presumably at least some people who celebrate lunar new year took vacation. Yet traffic is awful and buses are packed. Nothing new here lol...
