Does anyone know if there's any training material online for driving the 60 footers?

They give you a brief document when they qualify you on the bus. It's pretty much the same as the 40 ft buses in terms of driving and turning. The artic joint is your reference point for turning.

Looks like they have 150 vacancies open. I’m very low 1300’s so it’s going to be a while! I am curious to know how many people they will go through to fill these spots up

I got a friend with the list number 34x, so they sent emails to at least that number. Who knows they might hire more then 150, depending on budget and how many people they need.

I just got an automated call to submit paperwork I’m guessing  for pre employment? The phone call wasn’t too clear and I haven’t received an email so I’m a tad bit confused.

    list number 12x

I got an email to fill out the pre-employment stuff and the same phone call.

    List number 29X

Track is the red headed step child of the MTA, they don’t care they are short workers if work is still getting done. lol

No word on anything about hiring, no pick in sight for us, track is just frozen for the time being.

So you'd say you guys are short right now? I mean eventually Transit is going to have to hire lol.

    Hi everyone

Does anyone know if they reschedule appointments due to severe weather?

my medical is Monday morning and it looks like the snow storm starts Sunday evening

    thanks

Honestly, unless you get an email or a phone call from them (which they'll usually do) you go.

Hey everybody hope those of you on the job are enjoying your new pick. I have to say I am always questioning my pay lately because when I hand in late slips I seem to not get anything from them? Can any of the veteran operators that off up some advice to us newbies speak on the pay structure and how sometimes being late doesn’t actually net you any more pay. Additionally I was wondering if those instances when your pay remains the same, does putting in the time with OTO automatically still give you that same extra time you earned regardless of what run you received it on?  Thanks!

Check the insight app for USBON and USCOT. If you notice you have X amount of minutes or hours under those for the day you put in a late slip it means you got paid for it.

Yeah I agree. They will drag this out the whole 4 years . Figure it took them 6 years to go through 300, which is about 50 a year. To my understanding they hire at the end/ beginning of each quarter based on their needs. So, just for a ballpark figure lets say they hire 4 times a year with approximately maybe 12 TA people give or take, plus there will probably be some OA and MTA in each class.

I think they went through more dispatchers this year. When I was at Zerega a few months ago I saw a TON of new dispatchers just getting their shiny badges.

Today is day 12 and I finally got to pick my depot. Unfortunately I got stuck with Ulmer park depot in Brooklyn and I lice in the Bronx. The good thing I guess is that that’s the only depot that has express depots.

What choices did your class get?
