When I go in for my final processing will the date for the next training class be given to me that same day or will I have to wait to hear back in an email for a date

When they send you the email for medical/final processing, a PDF document with the date of the class you're being considered for will be included.

I took the drug test last week, approximately how long till I hear back for the final processing?

And just wanted to know the training is done during the day ?

Could be a week, could be two. Depending on how many slots are available for the class.

Will the MTA contact you to inform you if they won't offer a drug test for whatever or do we assume that no news is good news?

No news is good news, just keep on eye on the forums and see if people post about getting called to go downtown for their drug tests.

Sorry to come out of nowhere but I'm just curious as to what you guys would recommend as to my situation.

So I passed the test and got to go down to Livingston and fill out paper work. At the time I only had my permit.  Eventually I got a letter saying that they weren't going to go further with my application. I started another job and I coworker recommended I call I supervisor he knew and ask what happeneded in my situation. I lost my phone before I got a chance to call and the coworker has since left.

I have tried to apply and do the exam again. Should I have applied for a new exam? Did I lose my spot from the first list number I got. This is so confusing. I'm currently driving for AAR and heard that it helps when trying to get a job with Transit. Thanks.

Try calling and finding out why they didn't go with you. They probably won't honestly even tell you why, because that's just how this agency unfortunately operates.

Everything is going pretty smooth. Im a part of a group that is in AY yard (Canarsie) for the 4 weeks. They have us working hard throughout the day, cutting ties and using different power tools, explaining different types of rails and tools etc. Not bad at all.

Hey, is there anyway you or someone else that's in your class can PM me with your pick choices. Myself and a friend of mine in the first class are just curious what your mini pick looked like, if not it's fine, thanks.

Oh, ok. I'm in the 700's and had until today to send in my pre-employment. it should be awhile before I go in for a drug test and other work then.  Likely August/September as you said?

That's my best guess from how things usually go. I can't gurantee you anything because there's factors out there out of my knowledge like class sizes, how many people fail or turn down the job. I mean I'm 29x and I made it into the 3rd class.

Does anyone know approximately how long after you send in the pre-employment forms from the canvassing letter will you go in for the drug test and other paperwork? I have a 2 week vacation in the beginning of August and I'm wondering if it would be before or after that? I'd be back by Aug. 13 and my pre-employment forms were due June 23, which I already sent in. Any info helps. Thanks all

You should be good, they're only up to the 300s for Medicals so they got someway to go until they hit you. I'd say by mid to late August you'll go in for a drug test, maybe even early September.

    Good day everyone,

I was put on medical hold on June 4th and received clearance by NYCT doctors this morning. I walked over to station number 3 in the employment center at Livingston Ave and was told that they no longer have any positions available for exam number 9309. I was also told to reach out to employmentcenterbuses@nyct.com on 7/12/21 for any updates.

Question: Has anyone been through this, have any information about this or thoughts on this?

Thank you in advance anyone who helps or even replies.

They probably filled up the class with Ops for MTA bus and are waiting for approval to hire new ones. Just keep emailing them and you should be good to go as long as your persistent.

I recently got the canvassing letter also and it said I had until the 23rd to respond. I am in the early 900’s on the list. Is it a issue that I sent in 2 forms because I couldn’t get the first form to sign but was able to get the second signed? Also do they respond to you if you send in your letter before the deadline confirming that they received the letter? Or do I just have to wait and hope for the best?

It's fine that you sent in two, the staff analyst will email you only if they have any questions or errors you need to correct. If everything is in order the next email you'll receive is a drug test.

Im currently filling out the pre employment forms and came across list number and "effective date". What exactly is the "effective date" refer to? Thx in advance

Don't worry about that part until they call you downtown to finish the paperwork.

I got the call for the 8600 Track Worker List and they told me to check my email if I'm still interested. In the email there is a Pre Employment Backround sheet.

My question is as I am trying to fill it out, there is a Document Type 2 Appointment sheet that asks for Pass No._______ . An Exam No.______ And a List No. _______

I am aware the Exam number is 8600 but what is a List No. and Pass no? Is the pass no. my grade I got on the test? And the List no. is my  number I am sitting on the list? If so where can I find this information since its been a few years since I had that info.

    Thanks

Don't worry about that part, it's not important for the pre employment. Just fill everything else out to the best of your ability.

I had received that email on Feb 24th this year,as they were sent out to the 1st 500 people on the list. I'm in the late 400s  range and I still haven't gotten contacted to come in for the drug test yet. So you more than likely have a few months before you get that call to come in as I seen that you were concerned about finishing the school year in Asia. I will update when I get contacted to go in on this forum thread. Good luck to everyone who is still waiting.

They filling up the July 19th class with list numbers in in 300s right now, so you'll probably get in the one after that.

    Hey guys,

I have been lurking in this forum for a couple of years now just always reading the questions and information given.

I just received a text message and email today that they want me to come in next Tuesday to continue the pre employment process.

My question is mainly, what is the hourly/ annual salary for this job? I am trying to figure out if its even worth pursuing.

    Thank you in advance

If you dont mind me asking what your list number range is, I'm just trying to gage how far they've gone.

Can any members provide any tips on pulling into the bus stop without touching the curb. Also with the interlock in the 1 o'clock position is the interlock is engaged by pressing the brake and deactivated once all the doors are closed by pressing the the brake also?

Watch your rear tires and it'll give you a good picture as to weather or not you've hit the curb. That green light above the rear doors tells you if the interlock is engaged or not.

I also received a email regarding pre employment.

I wanted to inquire about the below statement which was included in the email. Will it be "any" borough as stated or the ones that correspond with MTA bus company.

Please note that if you are appointed to the position, you will be subject to a one year probationary period. You may also be required to work in any borough, day, evening or night shifts, including Saturdays, Sundays, and Holidays.

Any borough that's MTA bus associated. But if it helps you there's a 80% chance it's going to be Queens. Only 2 depots outside of Queens.

Hello everyone hope all the probies on this list are doing well. I’m about 8.5 months on the job and doing well so far. I have been contacted by the dept of sanitation for an opportunity as a sanitation worker. I am conflicted as to what position would be better for me as I am very happy as a BO currently. I was wondering if @+Young+ or anyone else with a way to contact HR for bus operators could give me the contact information. I could be leaving during my probation and I was wondering if that affects my ability to come back as a bus operator if I decide that the DSNY isn’t for me. Also, if anyone has any experience or knowledge about working for the DSNY I would love to hear what you have to say because I don’t know much about the job compared to being a bus operator. Thanks!

Take sanitation and never look back.

I got called in to come Tuesday. What documents do I need to bring with me and what type of attire?

Just wear regular clothes, just don't come in looking dirty. Documents wise, Original Social Security Card, Original Birth Certificate, Drivers License (if you have one).

Just wondering, what's your list number range if you don't mind sharing.

  18. 1 minute ago, JoeDJr said:

I don't mind, I'm in the 230s, and the date for me to go down is on 5/25. I don't know of the number to call, but for the time being I'll wait it out as you suggested. If I don't get anything by tomorrow, I'll update on here. Thank you for the swift reply dman

When you go in it'll be a drug test and you'll finish filling out your pre employment. I think you may need to bring some personal documents.

Hey everybody, I just got a call/text to come to 180 to follow up with pre-employment. What was also said was to check your e-mail for further instructions.....but after checking my email and spam mail, its not there. Can anyone give me a number to call or even better explain what to bring? Thank you in advance

If you don't mind me asking, what's your list number range?

Edit: Wait until the end of business day for an email, if you don't receive one by end of business day reach out to them first thing Monday morning. Did you get a date to come in at least?
