  1. I know this is over a month old, but it's worth it. There's a bonus hidden reference in that statement about Raichu. The iconic move we know as "Thunderbolt" is called "100,000 Volts" in the Japanese version of the games.
  2. Why I had no idea sir Damn snow, you're eroding my incentive to busfan!
  3. I'm happy taking the R46s on the to school most days, but I wouldn't mind seeing R179s... Although they most likely won't be delivered until after I graduate, must less enter revenue service, sadly.
  4. Dunkin' Donuts Jumped The Shark after they discontinued their Chicken Parmesan Flatbread.
  5. HAPPY BOXING DAY!!!! Also, I rode the full length of the Q35 (round-trip) for the first time yesterday! In hindsight, the trip probably would have been better done when the sun was actually out, but oh well Both of my Q35 B/Os seemed to be a little lagging sometimes, but at least we went fast over the bridge . Also, when turning from Newport Ave onto B147th St heading towards Brooklyn, the bus had almost no space. First, the B/O had to make sure we didn't hit this tree right near the road as we were turning, then we bumped into some Christmas trees on those narrow island-things right in the middle of the street - don't worry, nothing got destroyed, but wow. I'd hate to be driving the Q35 and having to maneuver like that.
  6. Brock was the main character tight? B) Travelling around to be the world's greatest breeder with his sidekicks Ash, Misty, May, Max, and Dawn. And then he left to be a doctor. Anyways, I got trolled. Big time. I will put aside the fact that my nose sucks and it feels like something really is stuck in my throat. On Thursday, the train I take came 7 minutes later than normal. Fine. Delays happen. I even managed to eventually get a seat. And there were these two cute girls watching me do my math homework (I mean that literally - they were standing right over me, just glancing at my paper and one of them sat next to me later) - I might have enjoyed it more if my nose wasn't like a freakin' waterfall. The C/R announced twice that the train would be skipping Sterling St and Winthrop St, once in the tunnel between Franklin Ave & President St, and again at President St itself. I figured, "sure, why not?" For all I knew, the train was going to stop at Beverly Rd. I know that even when they skip stations, T/Os are supposed to operate at a certain speed. My T/O took it to an extreme. He/she just drove really slow through the entire station. It seemed like the train really was going to stop at both stations. Anyway, the train arrives at Church Ave. Everything is good in the world, my stop is next, and I pack my stuff away as the train pulls into Beverly Rd, deccelerates, comes to a complete sto- wait, why aren't we stopping? And again at Newkirk Ave? Like I said before, the T/O I had came to almost a complete stop even when skipping a station, so it seemed like we were stopping. Plus the C/R never said anything about skipping Beverly and Newkirk. All I could was facepalm and bang my head on the pole as those two girls who were getting off at Flatbush Ave anyway just watched. In the tunnel between Newkirk and Flatbush, the C/R said that the train we were on would be the first to leave Flatbush Ave going to Manhattan, for everyone who needed to get off at Newkirk Ave or Beverly Rd. Of course, he didn't say why we skipped those stops or why we weren't told about it; I guess it was a last-minute decision or a communication failure. So at Flatbush, there are two trains. The train I'm on, which is supposedely going to leave first, and a train on the opposite platform. Guess which train leaves first? Guess. Come on. Guess. Just guess. All together, I only got home 20 minutes later than normal, so it wasn't so bad. Sorry I vented. Thursday was a bad day. I needed to. It felt good. Friday was nothing special. The train I rode went oddly slow on CPW. I didn't think there was a train ahead of us, because there was a train in front of the train I rode. I didn't think there was a train ahead of us either, because there was a ( train already waiting for us at Columbus Circle. But yeah, we went slow. You know how slow we were going? That ( train actually beat us to 145th St! We were neck-and-neck between 59th St and around 116th St, before we fell behind. *sigh* 4 school days left until Christmas Break. P.S. - It doesn't count as a 'vacation' unless you're completely work-free during that time.
  7. Correct. Isshu/Unova appears to have no contests. Pokemon Black and White introduced "Pokemon Musicals"... And Dent is fabolous enough to compete in them. It's a winning combination! Also, it would be the first time one of the guys competes in a side quest. Also, the english run of Diamond & Pearl is almost over and we still have no announced airdate for Movie 13...
  8. In Japan, old episodes aren't readily available. Reruns are almost non-existant. If an episode airs, it's almost guaranteed to be a new episode. The recycling of old plots is supposed to remedy this, to some extent. And, introduce the stories to a new generation of fans. But yeah, I can see why this practice would seem annoying to an older fan. Even I get a little annoyed by it. However, it's not like every other episode has a recycled plot or anything. It's true, Advanced Generation, Diamond & Pearl and Best Wishes all have flaws, but I like them for all the new things they do, and all the things they do right. It's fun talking about Pokeymans Today I rode a Siemens R160 on the . After a few months of Alstoms, it's refreshing to mix things up. When I walk to school from the , it's fun to see M1s and M7s coming from Manhattanville heading East on 145th St.
  9. What's wrong with the Diamond & Pearl and Best Wishes series of Pokemon? Once you get past the 'it automatically sucks becuase it's not the original seires' feeling of watching the show, I daresay it's quite good. In other news, today is the second day in a row I rode in R142 #6340 on the line [being the first car facing South] coming home from school. And I rode at different times today and yesterday too. I think R142s are stalking me. I didn't mind when 7001-7005 did it, but now I'm afraid o_O Also for the lulz, R142 #6340 has one of those big colorful ads for M15 SBS on it. This despite the fact that it comes out of 239th St on the and the only stops a couple of blocks away from the M15 at best. There are ads on different R142s and R142As, but you never even hear "Transfer is available to the M15 +SelectBusService" at any station, which makes the ads seems a little useless. The train IIRC doesn't even announce a transfer to the M15 at 1st Ave. As far as the R143s are concerned, the M15SBS doesn't even exist. The irony... 'tis delicious. Finally, the topography in Harlem sucks.

  12. I remember I had a route in mind called the Q61 Limited. It was a Limited counterpart to the Q60, running from Williamsburg Bridge Plaza to South Jamaica Late Nights after the Q60 retires, the Q61 would provide local service. It would follow the B62 from Williamsburg Bridge Plaza to Queens Plaza, then follow the Q60. Basically: a Limited B62 + Q60, runs Local Late Nights Q61 Limited Stops: Washington Plaza Grand St Bedford Av Nassau Av Greenpoint Av 21 St - Van Alst Court Square Queens(boro) Plaza Van Dam St 48 St 58 St 69 St Grand Av Woodhaven Blvd 63 Drive 67 Av 71 Av Union Turnpike Main St Briarwood - Van Wyck Hillside Av/Sutphin Blvd Jamaica Av Archer Av South Rd 108 Rd It's kind of impratical compared to the Q54 and the Queens Blvd Line, but I think it's cool. The B113, a super Limited version of the B103 Stops: Gateway Center Mall Spring Creek Towers [every stop along Pennsyvlania Av served by the (B82) and (B83)] --------------------------------------- Flatlands Av/Williams Av E 105 St/Av J E 105 St/Av M Av M/Rockaway Pkwy Av M/Remsen Av Av M/E 80 St E 80 St/Flatlands Av Glenwood Rd/Ralph Av Av H/Utica Av Triangle Junction [Flatbush Av/Nostrand Av] Atlantic Terminal Livingston St/Elm Pl Livingston St/Smith St Cadman Plaza W/Montague St (NB) Adams St/Supreme Court (SB) Tillary St/Cadman Plaza West Maybe that's not the best list of potential stops, but you get the point. Non-Stop Routing: Flatbush Av -> Dorchester Rd -> Ocean Pkwy/Prospect Expressway -> Hamilton Av -> 4 Av -> Right Turn 0on Atlantic Av (Northbound)-> Left Turn on Flatbush Av (Northbound) -> Stops in front of Atlantic Terminal Also, a Bx41 Select Bus Service [The MTA does kind of consider SBS a seperate route...] Stations: Gun Hill Rd E 204 St Bedford Park Blvd Fordham Rd Tremont Av Claremont Pkwy E 167 St E 161 St 3 Av - E 149 St B46 SBS: Stations: Washington Plaza Lorimer St ( - Broadway & Union Av) Flushing Av Myrtle Av Dekalb Av Gates Av Fulton St Eastern Pkwy Empire Blvd Church Av Ave H Flatlands Av Ave N Fillmore Av [southbound; drop-off only] Kings Plaza Anyone remember the proposed Q94 Limited between Flushing and Fordham Plaza? It's a killer idea. But I heard [Don't know if it was true] it would follow the Bx9between West Farms Square and Fordham Plaza. I want it to travel like this: Cross Bronx Expressway -> Tremont Av -> 3 Av Via the Q44, then the Bx40/Bx42, then the Bx15/Bx55. Stops In The Bronx: Bruncker Blvd/Cross Bronx Castle Hill Av/Cross Bronx Hugh J. Grant Circle White Plains Rd/Cross Bronx West Farms Square Tremont Av/Southern Blvd Tremont Av/Crotona Av Tremont Av/3 Av 3 Av/E 180 St 3 Av/E 183 St Fordham Plaza Someone like Cotb16 can tweak this list for me, I was using the Bronx Map ^^
