Ok.

This is not new. This has been the currrent set up since the 1st generation of (5) announcements since Jessica Ettinger took over. This is how you can tell what train came from Flatbush Av or New Lots or Utica. There are 2 versions of the announcemens of (5) announcements in the Bronx, actually 3 but anyways.

(5)s from New Lots Av and Crown Hts upon entering the Bronx say "This is a Eastchester-Dyre Av bound (5) Train"

(5)s from Flatbush AV say "This is a Eastchester Bound (5) Local Train"

3rd Version is for all (5)s thats run express in the Bronx "This is a Eastchester Bound (5) Express Train" Or "This is a Neried Av bound (5) Express Train"

Now for downtown.

(5)s going to Bowling Green say "This is a Manhattan Bound (5) Train"

(5)s going to Utica/New Lots/Flatbush All say "This is a Manhattan Bound (5) Local/Express Train"

You also have:

this is a East 180th St bound 5 Local/express

this is a 149th st-GC bound 5 train

this is a Grand central bound 5 express train

this is a Neried Av bound 5 Local train

There are alot more.

Thats wrong.. It can come from any part of Brooklyn.. It says it ONLY during Rush hrs to Dyre Avenue:

This is a Eastchester-Dyre Av bound (5) Local Train

This is an an Eastchester Bound (5) Local Train*

*Used during Non-RH hours in the Bronx. And I live on the (2)(5) Line in the Bronx. Hear it everyday!

Also OP, if you know transit then you should know this is OLD news! This has been like this since last yr..

(5) trains are local to Eastchester in rush hours, you mean the AM hours right? I didn't know she said "an" twice.

Sorry I added An extra by mistake.

As for the (5). The (5) Goes to Eastchester(Dyre Ave) at all times and to 238th/Nereid Avenue(WPR) peak direction Rush hour. (AM To Manhattan /PM From Manhattan)

And (5) Are Express to Dyre/238th During Rush Hour peak:

Weekdays:

AM Rush: ((6:15AM to 9:15AM)

From Dyre Avenue/238th to Crown Hts-Utica, Bowling Green(Yes Limited, seen em), Flatbush or New Lots ( Express from East 180th to 149th St)

During early/late rush hour trains runs via Local to Utica

PM Rush[Express arriving at 149th]: (Starts around 4:45PM to 8:30PM)

From Utica Ave/Bowling Green(Limited)/Flatbush/New Lots to Dyre Avenue/238th St, Express from 149th St to East 180th.

Limited <5> 238th Continues express from East 180th to Gun Hill Road/White Plains Road and end there for access to 239th Yd Directly..

During early/late rush hour train coming from Brooklyns Utica/New Lots will run local in the Bronx.

Midday(Weekdays):

(5) Runs from Dyre Ave to Flatbush Ave(As we all know). Some could relay at Bowling green during early Midday.. to the bronx

(5) Limited NB trains runs express to East 180th St (From 149th St to East 180th), for access to Yard 180th/Union Port

Weekends/Evenings:

Dyre AVenue to Bowling Green

Late Nights: (10:45PM to 6AM)

(S) Eastchester to East 180th (5) (S)huttle.. Connect with (2) at 180th

(5)<5> Lexington Avenue Express, White Plains Road Local/Express(Rush Hour Peak), Eastern Parkway Express, Nostrands/New Lots(RH) Local

And that should do it..

I think S/B (5) to New Lots says "This is a Manhattan Bound 5 Train" like the Dyre-Bowling Green announcement

(5) S/B from 241 St (not Dyre) will say "This is a Manhattan Bound (5) Local Train" even to Bowling Green/Brooklyn Bridge/Grand Central

"This is a Eastchester-Dyre Av bound (5) Local Train" is now heard during middays as well since the (5) now comes from Brooklyn

"This is an Eastchester bound (5) train" is another variant, heard late nights on the N/B (5)(shuttle) and at all times at Baychester Avenue
