St Louis Car 09 Posted January 11, 2010 Share #2 Posted January 11, 2010 That was sick.I`ve seen it for cars, bus buses is a different story. That MCI D4500 is a nice bus by design, but according to the crash it has a week front end.The side body panels were literally sliding up off the body, like it was being skinned alive!!! DOB2RTO Posted January 11, 2010 Share #3 Posted January 11, 2010 That is why I was taught when I had worked for Rockland Coaches, that you the driver is the first to die, if you have a head on collision with another bus, truck, or large standing object, such as a tree, building, etc. I think the MCI D-models would do better being made of metal, than those fiberglass POS E, G, and J models............ I know we would be a dead man/dead woman/dead he-she, if we were to have a head on, or rear end collision with another train here, at certain speeds. Derail at the wrong time, we can smash against a support column smashing the bulkhead........... I want to see a video of a NYC subway train crashing head on into something though............ Yea that was pretty bad no way a driver would live to tell the tale of that.as for a subway crash that would be pretty dam ugly to see.
traildriver Posted January 11, 2010 Share #5 Posted January 11, 2010 The folks that rush to get seats in the front row should be shown this video. It just might change their mind. I believe this is one of the reasons that they stopped making cab-over-engine trucks in this country. Scary. Real scary.

Cross Harbor RR Posted January 13, 2010 Share #11 Posted January 13, 2010 I am in shock. The crash blew off the entire front end, and pushed the front axle back, and the door just blew off the bus. hey must reconfigure the design of this bus.
